🩺Help stop the spread of respiratory and enteric illness🩺
Key prevention tips.
💉Get Vaccinated: The annual flu shot is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age and is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and the community. The COVID-19 and flu vaccines can be received at the same time. The RSV vaccine is also available. You can check availability with local pharmacies or healthcare providers.
🧼Wash Your Hands Frequently: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water for at least 15 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol).
🦠Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Use a tissue to cover your mouth and nose, and discard it immediately. If you do not have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow, not your hands.
Avoid Touching Your Face: Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth to prevent germs from entering your body.
Stay Home When Sick: If you have symptoms, stay home until you have no fever and your symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours if you had nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea).
🧽Clean and Disinfect Surfaces: Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects like doorknobs, light switches, keyboards, and telephones, as viruses can live on surfaces.
Improve Ventilation: Open windows and doors when possible to improve indoor air quality.
😷Wear a Mask: Wearing a well-fitted mask can provide additional protection in crowded indoor public settings or when around others if you must leave home while symptomatic.
Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Support your immune system by getting enough rest and sleep, drinking plenty of fluids, eating nutritious food, staying physically active, and managing stress.
