Carbon monoxide (CO) gets its nickname๐Ÿ‘† for a reason. Itโ€™s odourless, colourless, and tasteless, making it impossible to detect with your senses.

CO poisoning is more common than many realize. Every year, hundreds of Canadians are affected. Hereโ€™s what to do if you suspect it:

What a great few days with amazing teams!

BAFRS headed to Calgary this week to attend the Western Mental Health Conference!
Over two full days, our team dove into new and emerging mental-health supports for First Responders, connected with resource providers, and strengthened partnerships with agencies from across Western Canada.

This conference is an important part of our ongoing commitment to improving mental-health wellbeing for BAFRS and our partners throughout the North Thompson. Bringing home fresh knowledge, new tools, and stronger inter-agency relationships helps us continue building a healthier, more resilient responder community.

Pictured below are Sheila โ€” our dedicated CISM member and Director โ€” alongside Brielle from Rapid Response Training (Williams Lake). Two incredible advocates for responder mental health.

โœจ Day 1 at the First Respondersโ€™ Mental Health Conference โ€“ Western Canada โœจ

Today was my first day at the Wounded Warrior / First Respondersโ€™ Mental Health Conference, and I am leaving with a full heart and a fire lit inside me.

Being surrounded by people who get itโ€”people who live the weight, the responsibility, the trauma, and the resilience every single dayโ€”was powerful. The conversations, the stories, and the support in this room remind me exactly why I do what I do.

I feel incredibly motivated to be the change in my communityโ€ฆ to advocate louder, to teach with more compassion, and to keep showing up for the people who show up for everyone else.

This work matters. Mental health matters. Our first responders matter.

Iโ€™m so grateful to be here representing Rapid Response Training, learning, growing, and bringing these lessons home to help strengthen the Cariboo and every community I serve. ๐Ÿ’™

Hereโ€™s to the rest of the conference and to the change weโ€™re all working toward.

โœจ Throwback Thursday! โœจ

Hereโ€™s a little throwback to when our instructors officially got signed off to teach Transportation Endorsement โ€” a huge milestone for Rapid Response Training and another way weโ€™re working to keep our community safer and more prepared.

We also want to say a big thank you for your patience. We know weโ€™ve been a bit quiet lately โ€” but itโ€™s for a good reason. Weโ€™re working hard behind the scenes on some exciting new things that we canโ€™t wait to share with you soon. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™

Next stop: Calgary!

Weโ€™re honoured to be attending the Wounded Warriors Mental Health Conference next week! Investing in mental health, community wellness, and continuous education is part of our commitment to bringing the very best training home to the Cariboo.

Stay tuned โ€” the best is yet to come. ๐Ÿ™Œ

PS: Thanks Emily for rocking your swag of itโ€™s not easy being wheezy key chain ๐Ÿ˜‚

โœจ What a beautiful evening โœจ

Iโ€™m feeling so incredibly grateful tonight. Being part of the Business Excellence Awards surrounded by so many hardworking, passionate people reminded me just how special our community truly is.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the nominations, the encouragement, and the continued support youโ€™ve shown Rapid Response Training.

Every kind word, every tag, every student who believes in what we doโ€”it all matters more than you know. ๐Ÿ’™

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees tonight. You inspire me to keep growing, keep giving back, and keep believing in the power of community.
Hereโ€™s to Williams Lakeโ€”where heart and hard work go hand in hand. ๐Ÿ’ซ

๐ŸŒ„ Counting My Blessings ๐ŸŒ„

One of the greatest blessings of this journey is being able to travel to remote and rural communitiesโ€”places where connection runs deep and every face tells a story. โค๏ธ

Each trip reminds me why I started Rapid Response Training: to bring lifesaving skills and confidence to every corner of our province, no matter how far the drive or how small the classroom. ๐Ÿš‘โœจ

Thereโ€™s something incredibly humbling about being welcomed into a community, sharing knowledge, laughter, and stories, and leaving knowing youโ€™ve made a differenceโ€”big or small.

To everyone who has opened their doors, shared their culture, and trusted me to teach in their spaces: thank you. Youโ€™ve filled my heart more than youโ€™ll ever know. โค๏ธ

Ever wonder what it looks like when youโ€™re the โ€œpatientโ€? ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚

This is your POV when the first aid crew rushes in โ€” a bunch of smiling (and slightly concerned) faces hovering over you ready to save the day! โค๏ธ

Donโ€™t worryโ€ฆ weโ€™ve got you covered โ€” and we might even make you laugh while weโ€™re at it ๐Ÿ˜‰
