Looking for something to do with the kids this week? Early Years is happening again at the CDC.

Join us Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 from 10:30–11:30 AM for a relaxed drop-in play group for children ages 0–6 and their caregivers.

Our play spaces are designed to encourage movement, imagination, and hands-on exploration. Little ones can climb, balance, and move their bodies in the Orange Zone, explore creative pretend play in the Green Zone, and discover sensory activities in the Blue Zone.

It’s a welcoming hour for children to explore at their own pace while caregivers connect with others in the community.

Some weeks with a baby feel long — and connecting with other moms can make a big difference.

Mom’s Connection Group meets Tuesdays from 1:30–3:30 PM at the CDC, and babies are meant to come too. Bring your little one and spend some time with other moms who understand this stage of life.

It’s a relaxed drop-in space with coffee, tea, light snacks, toys for baby, and conversation with other caregivers. Some moms come every week, some stop in when they can — both are welcome.

If you’ve been thinking about getting out of the house and meeting other moms, this is a simple place to start.

Have you ever thought about volunteering, but assumed it would require a big time commitment?

Horsin’ Around might surprise you.

It runs March 23–26, and volunteers sign up for one-hour shifts that fit their schedule. Available time slots are:

• 10:30–11:30 AM
• 12:00–1:00 PM
• 1:30–2:30 PM

After a short orientation, you can choose one shift or several — whatever works for you.

No horse experience is required. What matters most is a comfort level around horses and a genuine interest in supporting children who face a variety of barriers. Volunteers help create a steady, encouraging presence that allows kids to build confidence and connection through meaningful interaction with horses.

It’s hands-on, impactful, and often described as one of the most rewarding ways to give back.

To learn more, scan the QR code on our poster, visit ccchild.org/volunteer, or call 250-392-4481.

If you’ve been looking for a way to make a difference — this could be it.

Hi parents of teens - if you're interested in building up skills to handle emotionally charged moments with your teen, this is worth checking out. Please pass along ;)

Part 1 of our Advanced Caregiving (EFFT) Seminar Series is coming up — and we’re starting with something many caregivers ask about: emotional regulation.

The teen years can be intense. Big feelings, quick reactions, shutdowns, conflict. This session looks at what’s happening beneath the surface and how caregivers can respond in ways that build connection instead of escalation. We’ll talk about co-regulation, common emotional patterns in teens, and practical strategies you can begin using right away.

This is part of a four-part series. You don’t have to attend every seminar — each one stands on its own — but together they build on each other and deepen the learning.

Wednesday, March 11
5:00–6:30 pm
Drop-in at Foundry Cariboo Chilcotin

Today is Pink Shirt Day in BC (also known as Anti-Bullying Day)— a reminder that kindness, inclusion, and standing up for one another matter every single day.

Our team wore pink to show our commitment to creating safe, respectful spaces for children, youth, and families in our community. The work we do is rooted in connection, belonging, and making sure every young person feels supported.

We also want to acknowledge and thank Do-More Promotional Ltd for their continued support of local initiatives through their Pink Shirt campaign, with proceeds benefiting Foundry Cariboo Chilcotin this year. Community partnerships like this strengthen the supports available to young people across our region.

Kindness isn’t just a colour we wear — it’s something we choose to practice. 💗
