Just letting you all know that mental health services are an essential service, more so now than ever given these stressful times. Those accessing counselling services at Lumen will not be required to show proof of vaccination to attend sessions. Strict Covid-19 protocols are in place, and these are aligned with current public health recommendations. Remote sessions are available for anyone who is not comfortable attending in person or who may be experiencing cold/flu symptoms. Please call 250-392-5500 at any time for further information, stay safe and be kind to one another:):)

“Abusers often try to have power and control over a survivor’s life, and a safety plan is one way a survivor can have power and control over their own situation, as much as they can. Having a plan can empower you to make the safest decisions you can for your situation.

You know your situation better than anyone, so please individualize your safety plan to what feels safest for you. If something does not feel safe, trust your instincts.” -Sanctuary for Families

Hello everyone! Just letting you all know that face-to-face sessions are happening again, with Covid 19 protocols in place. Telephone sessions are also available if preferred. If you are coming in for a session, I have a co- therapist in training on site, her name is Luna, and she is in the process of being registered as an animal assisted therapy dog. Happy Friday everyone! This week the province moved into Phase 3 of opening up. Some EAP coverage providers are not yet allowing face to face sessions, however others are; with this in mind, I am able conduct some sessions face to face, with COVID 19 protocols strictly in place. ALSO, the Lumen office telephone is currently not working properly- if you have left messages or tried to call, they can't be accessed at this time due to problems with the phone service. I am in the process of getting the issues looked into and resolved, however it is taking some time! Until the phone line issues are resolved please call 250-394-7294; or email cherrie@lumenwl.ca. Have a wonderful weekend!
