Today is Denim Day…a day that started after a 1992 r**e case in Italy where a judge overturned a conviction because the victim wore tight jeans. As if clothing is ever an invitation. It’s not.

People showed up to parliament in denim to protest. It became a global movement.

Because what someone wears has never (and will never) determine what they deserve. No outfit, no situation, no relationship changes that.

Wearing denim today is a small act of solidarity with survivors everywhere. A reminder that I believe you, I stand with you, and it is never your fault.

Had the BEST time with this strong group of women last night in Windsor. We contextualized violence against women, learned hits, kicks, and releases, YELLED, and had lots of laughs. I’m still smiling ear to ear after this workshop and feeling grateful knowing these women have the confidence and permission to step into their power.
