šŸŽ‰ Join Us For Something New This Spring!!!!FITNESS EDITION! šŸŽ‰

Freedom Respite Program is thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with Bucciachio Counselling & Fitness to provide a 6-week functional fitness program - thoughtfully designed for individuals with disabilities!

This program will be uniquely delivered through the expertise of Peter Bucciachio, a Registered Social Worker and Certified Personal Trainer — blending physical development with emotional support in a way that you won’t find in traditional programs. This isn’t just about fitness, it’s about the mind + body working together!

šŸ’Ŗ What that means for your loved one:• Safe, guided movement that builds real-life strength and mobility• Activities that support coordination, balance, and daily living skills• A focus on confidence, connection, and overall well-being• A supportive environment where each participant is understood and encouraged.

Through fun and engaging activities like agility ladders, mini hurdles, resistance bands, and dynamic movement, participants are not just exercising — they’re discovering what their bodies can do and building confidence in who they are.

šŸ’› Because the goal isn’t just about movement… it’s about growth. Growth in strength. Growth in independence. Growth in self-belief.

And most importantly — this is a program that stays with them. The skills they build, the confidence they gain, and the routines they learn are designed to carry over into everyday life, long after the 6 weeks are over.

ā“Every Wednesday from 11:30-12:15 - beginning May 20th through to June 24, 2026.

šŸ’²15.00 per session. Spots are limited to ensure each participant receives meaningful support and attention.

šŸ“© Message us today to learn more or reserve a spot — this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity you won’t want to miss.

Cooking Class #3 focused on Dinner and food for the soul…. Meat Pies! 🄧

Today, our participants created their own homemade meat pies—from mixing and rolling the dough to shaping each one by hand. They had the choice of savoury beef or roasted chicken, and the results were incredible!

To round out the meal, we also prepared a fresh garden salad—simple, healthy, and the perfect complement to our pies.

We’re especially grateful to be learning from the best—our amazing chef and instructor Cheryl, the owner of Coffyn Piez—who continues to share her expertise, passion, and love of cooking with our group each week.

Another delicious success and lots of proud smiles all around! Cheryl Abela Cooking Classes with Coffyn Piez

Trying New Things in 2026 – New Thing #7! ✨

Today’s adventure brought us to OneZo Bubble Tea and what a refreshing way to start the week!

For those who haven’t tried it yet, bubble tea (also known as boba tea) is a fun and flavourful drink that usually combines tea with milk or fruit flavours, and chewy tapioca pearls (the bubbles). It’s as much an experience as it is a drink—sweet, customizable, and full of texture in every sip.

Our group had a great time exploring new flavours, textures, and stepping outside our comfort zones. From first sips to big smiles, it’s safe to say this was a hit!

Cooking Class #2 = Lunch Done Right! šŸ˜‹

Today in the kitchen, we took a classic favorite and made it our own! Our group learned how to make mac & cheese from scratch (yes… the real deal, no box needed!) and then got creative by boosting the nutrition with some not-so-traditional add-ins like ham and broccoli.

But we didn’t stop there…
We mixed up our very own homemade garlic spread and turned it into perfectly toasted garlic bread. šŸ„–āœØ

From learning new skills to trying new flavors, it was another fun (and delicious!) step in building confidence in the kitchen. Cheryl Abela Cooking Classes with Coffyn Piez
