Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services

Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services Maryvale is an adolescent Mental Health treatment centre where teens receive therapy and assistance from a team of experts.

In 1929, five Sisters of the Roman Catholic Order of the Good Shepherd established a home in Windsor for young women and girls in social and spiritual need. Maryvale was the first residential service for girls in the province of Ontario. In 1984, the admission criteria was broadened and Maryvale opened its first programs for boys. In December 1993, a program responding to children and teens in crisis began, initiated by the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918). In early 1997, Leone Residence moved to the Maryvale campus providing additional residential treatment for adolescent girls between the ages of 11 and 17 years. In May 2001, the Child and Adolescent Acute Mental Health Hospital Bed Program began. This program operates in the building known as the Rotary Home for Children and Youth. In 2013 Maryvale’s services moved primarily to day and after school programs, support programs for students moving between Maryvale and community schools, counselling services, access to child psychiatrists and Positive Parenting Programs.
