March 12, 2026 is World Kidney Day!
Here are 8 golden rules to maintain good kidney health:
1. Keep yourself fit and active 🏋🏻♀️
2. Maintain a healthy, balanced diet with a reduced salt intake 🥗
3. Take control of your blood sugar, especially if you have diabetes🍦
4. Take control of your blood pressure, especially if you have hypertension ❤️
5. Make sure you are drinking at least 8 cups (2L) of water daily💧
6. Avoid smoking to decrease the risk of kidney disease and kidney cancer🚭
7. Avoid frequent use of NSAIDs like Ibuprofen💊
8. Get your kidney function checked regularly if you have high risk factors like diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity🩺
