Services include Traditional Healing; Primary Care; Mental Health & Addictions. Aboriginal Health Access Centres (AHACs) are innovative, Aboriginal specific, Indigenous informed health care agencies. They provide a combination of health and social services to First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, including:

Traditional Healing
Primary Health Care (doctor or nurse practitioner)
Health promotion services
Cultural programs
Community development initiatives
Social support services

In Ontario, AHACs were first announced in 1995 in response to epidemic, systemic health disparities and inequities within the Aboriginal population across Ontario. They operate from a wholistic Aboriginal health framework which is often referred to by Aboriginal people as “the good life” or as restoring the “good mind”. The framework focuses on the restoration and rebalancing of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of Aboriginal people, families, communities and Nations, and understands “culture as treatment”.

🌿Wholistic Weight Management Program - A Pilot Program🌿

This program is a 6-week series led by a Registered Dietitian and a Mental Health Counsellor, designed to support both the nutrition and emotional/mental sides of our medicine wheel.

✨ How it works:
• The first session is the introductory class
• You’ll learn what the program includes, our approach, and what to expect
• After the first session, you can decide if you’d like to continue for the remaining 6 weeks

This is a supportive, whole-person approach—no pressure, no quick fixes.

The biggest Miigwetch to the Coachwood Golf & Country Club for this generous donation ♥️🎄

Because of your kindness, a family will have a little more comfort and joy when it matters.

Happy Holidays everyone!

This Christmas, we’re honoured to donate a 10-person holiday dinner to the Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC), who will be passing it along to a family in need.

Giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do, and we’re grateful to be able to share a little warmth and comfort this holiday season 🎄🤍

To our SOAHAC clients and community:

Thank you for your continued trust in SOAHAC as a partner on your journey to greater well-being over the past year.

We wish you peace, good health, and a bright path forward in the coming year.

Please note: our offices will be closed for a holiday break starting December 24 at 1pm, and re-opening on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 8:30 am.

If you are aware of any prescription refills that will be needed during our upcoming break, please be sure to ask your pharmacy to forward a refill request before our clinic closes. This will help us ensure your medications are not interrupted while we are away.

If you’re in need of medical attention during this time, please visit a walk-in clinic, urgent care centre, or hospital.

This holiday season, you can bring light, warmth, and belonging to Indigenous families across southwestern Ontario.

Your gift helps fill tables with nourishing meals, wrap children in winter warmth, and remind families they are seen, valued, and loved.
Every act of giving matters.
Every gesture restores balance.
Every gift brings light.
Your kindness is reconciliation in action.
