Proud to see Dr. Nour Nofal featured on
A recent CBC News story highlighted the reality of cornea transplant care in Newfoundland & Labrador, where patients can face wait times of up to five years due to limited local resources and the absence of a dedicated eye bank.
The province currently relies on visiting specialists and donated corneal tissue from outside regions to provide this essential, sight-restoring care.
Dr. Nofal is part of that solution as she travels to St. John’s multiple times a year, bringing donor corneas with her to perform transplants and help improve access for patients who might otherwise wait years or need to leave the province for treatment.
Her work is not only restoring vision. It is helping bring attention to the urgent need for more sustainable access to care.
We’re incredibly proud to have her on our team 💙
