On National Pet Day, we honour all pets. Those who greet us each day, and those who live on in memory. Their love never fades, their impact never leaves, and their place in our hearts is forever.

Many people are surprised by how many myths still surround funerals. The truth is, a funeral doesn’t have to be a sombre event. It’s a space for connection, comfort, and honouring a life in a personal way.

Because every family is different, each funeral reflects what matters most to the people who loved them, creating a celebration as unique as the person being remembered.

The bonds we share don’t fade with time. Even when our loved ones are no longer with us, love lives on in the memories, shared stories, and the quiet moments.

I had said since the age of 12 that I wanted to be a Funeral Director. I decided to do a co-op with Wallaceburg District Secondary School and Eric. F. Nicholls Funeral Home. Julius Van Den Bossche took me under his wing, and I am forever grateful to him for always believing in me.
I received my Funeral Directors License in 1992 and spent most of my career in Wallaceburg and the Chatham area.
An opportunity came up with Arbor in Windsor, ON in 2022. Unfortunately, shortly into my new employment I was diagnosed with Metastic Breast Cancer. My positive outlook was from the help of my loving family and wonderful friends.
I am currently working at Janisse Funeral Home as a Senior Funeral Director. My care and compassion stems from personal losses throughout my life. My professional philosophy is to always treat a family that I serve as if they were one of my own.
I am a proud mother of three adult children, Miranda (Mitch), Griffen (Jill) and Marisa (Warren). My two grandchildren, Sloan and Case are the joys of my life.
My father Jim passed away in 2010 and my mother Pam (Doug) is still living in Wallaceburg.
I love dogs, making my own sundried tomatoes, trying new recipes and gardening.
