Some Convergence Insufficiency key aspects to take note of:

-> Binocular Vision Disorder: It affects how both eyes work together as a team.

-> Near Work Difficulty: Problems arise with tasks like reading, computer use, or phone use, where eyes must turn inward.

-> Eye Drift: One or both eyes tend to turn outward (intermittent exotropia) when focusing up close.

Cause: Often linked to weak eye muscles or nerves controlling eye movement, though sometimes acquired after a brain injury.

If diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy, several treatment options are available:

-Monitoring: For those with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, regular monitoring is key. Recommendations may include dietary and lifestyle changes to better control blood sugar levels.

-Laser Treatments: For proliferative diabetic retinopathy, laser therapy can be employed to reduce the risk of vision loss by addressing abnormal blood vessel growth.

-Injections: In cases of diabetic macular edema, injections may be needed to reduce swelling and protect vision.

Save these notes to avoid digital eye strain.

-The distance from your eyes to your screen should be about an arm’s length from your eyes and 20 degrees below eye level.
-Colours and contrast tones should suit your eyes and match the brightness of your screen with your surroundings.
-Use the 20-20-20 rule.
-Use blue light blocking coating on the lenses of your glasses.
-Remember to blink!
