Our goal here at Solely Foot Care Inc. is to provide our patients with professional and quality foot care in a safe, clean and accessible environment. We want to educate our community on the importance of good foot health in order to live life to its fullest & pain free. We will continue to strive to offer the most up to date information and products & continue to learn to offer more services that our clientele and community can benefit from.
“Where are you located?” - We currently offer services at TWO locations within Windsor, 2441 Dougall Ave inside Compression Stocking & Bracing Centre and 7875 Tecumseh Rd. E inside Riverside Medical Centre. We are also mobile, which means we will come to your home to provide Advanced Foot Care.
“What services do you offer?”- We currently offer the following treatments; Advanced Foot Care (in home or clinic), Basic Foot Care (clinic only), Non-Surgical Ingrown nail removal (clinic only), Onyfix Ingrown Nail bracing (Clinic only), Waterless Medical Pedicure (Dougall location only)
“What is Advanced Foot Care?”- Your In home or clinic treatment will start with an intake questionnaire followed by an initial assessment. If your diabetic we will then do a monofilament test to assess for any loss of sensation/neuropathy concerns. We will then cut and file nails, debride thick fungal nails. remove corns and callus, non surgical ingrown nail removal, use hot towels (clinic only) therapeutic massage and hydrating nail oil. we will also offer our professional nursing recommendations and referrals if necessary.
“What is a Waterless Medical Pedicure?”- our medical pedicure is a waterless treatment performed by an advanced foot care nurse who combines podiatry care with the added cosmetic care. Guarenteed to be hygienic and safe with ZERO cross contamination. during your medi pedi your nurse will first examine your feet followed by nail shaping, cuticle work, callus removal & finished with hot towels, a therapeutic foot/leg massage, polish and hydrating nail oil.
“What is Onyfix?”- Onyfix is a newly innovative nail correcting system that enables painless treatment of almost all forms of ingrown/involuted toenails. Onyfix is the only nail bracing system classified as a class one medical device by Health Canada. Our foot care experts will adapt the system individually to your nail, this will allow your nail to regain its natural shape as it grows. This process is both pain free during and after application & is a great alternative to whole nail removal and not to mention more cost effective.
“How do you clean your instruments?”- your safety is our TOP priority and therefore we have the highest standards for infection control. All equipment used is sterilized after each use OR one time use instruments are discarded after care. Our sterilization process is as follows; we start by using a cleaning solution to clean away any visible debris, we use an ultrasonic cleaner to ensure effective cleaning within all crevices, we then package all our instruments in sterile puches that contain a chemical indicator both on and inside the package, we then place these packaged instruments into our steam autoclave, our autoclave reaches a heat of 273 each cycle, this ensures all bacteria, spores, fungi and any other microorganisms have been killed. The autoclave cycle is confirmed by a receipt like print out with times and temperatures of that cycle. each receipt is labeled with a load number which is then documented into our sterilization log book and onto the now sterile pouches for refrence and client documentation. This whole process is public health approved.
How long are appointments?”- Depending on the treatment your choose and your current foot health appointments can range anywhere from 15min - 1.5 hours.
‘Is foot care covered through OHIP or private insurance?’ - unfortunately at this time foot care is not covered by OHIP. Foot care can be covered by third party insurance companies however this is the clients responsibility to call and find out what their coverage criteria is. We do offer direct billing to Green Shield if you have a diabetic diagnosis and on oral medications or insulin, care must be done in the clients home for us to bill & we require a doctors note stating you are in need of medical foot care.
‘What are your qualifications?’- our staff are nurses with advanced foot care qualifications from St. Clair College and FOOT Canada.
“What forms of payment do you accept?”- We accept Cash, Debit & Credit as long as the card is tap or insert for in home and clinic appointments.
We hope you have a better understanding of what we do and offer. As always, if you have anymore questions please message, email or call us directly.
As always, we will be continuing to grow our business by adding services and collaborating other health care professional in our community. Like, follow & share to stay informed!
