Archie took one for the team and got a pie in the face to help raise money for our residents council! Thank you to everyone who donated and came out to our August BBQ - this was one to remember!
The Residents’ Council is a group led by and for residents living in the home. It gives residents a safe and respectful space to share ideas, make suggestions, and speak up about any concerns. The Council talks about things like food, care, activities, cleanliness, and safety. All residents are welcome to attend the meetings, and some may choose to take on roles like President or Treasurer. Meeting notes are shared with everyone, and the home must give a written response within 10 days to any concerns or suggestions. The Council helps make sure your voice is heard, and your rights are respected. The right to participate in decisions about care and daily life, the right to receive visitors and maintain relationships, and The right to express sexuality and cultural identity.
Our residents use their funds from residents council to put towards whatever they decide as a group - things such as monthly entertainment, new items for our newly renovated patio outside, items they would like around the home, etc. (outside of what the home provides). The money raised for residents council is completely up to the residents how they would like to spend it and on what they choose.
