The Full Moon has an interesting impact on hormones and chemical balance. We’ve all heard about ER’s and nursing homes being extra busy during a Full Moon, turns out there’s a reason for this.
Melatonin levels drop every Full Moon, this is a neurotransmitter that sends critical messages within your brain and nervous system. It impacts both sleep and immunity and a drop can leave you sleep deprived and vulnerable to illness.
Serotonin levels rise during a Full Moon, making some feel energized and happy, but some people can feel irritable and overstimulated.
Serotonin also affects parasite behaviour. Parasites have serotonin receptors, so the increase enhances their mobility. This is why a Full Moon can be a great time to do a parasite cleanse , or at least increase consumption of anti parasitic foods like pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, papaya, soursop, walnuts, onions, and garlic.

Spirulina is a blue green algae grown all over the world. The health benefits are so profound there are more than 3000 peer reviewed studies evaluating its benefits. It’s extremely nutrient dense, especially in amino acids.
One of the major benefits is its ability to detox heavy metals.
It’s an effective antifungal, particularly for candida. Additionally, it promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut.
Spirulina increases the production of antibodies, helping to improve immunity and ward off infections.
Blue vs green?
Both offer similar benefits, but differ slightly in composition.
Blue spirulina derives its colour from phycocyanins (the same compound found in methylene blue), which is a powerful antioxidant. The flavour tends to be a little milder and it offers more benefits to the mitochondria, boosting cellular function.
Green spirulina derives its colour from chlorophyll, having a slightly stronger, earthy taste, it offers stronger detoxification and gut benefits.

Most of us are familiar with the benefits of red light therapy, but did you know there’s a whole spectrum of colours that can be utilized for a targeted approach to healing?
Colour therapy was discovered by Dinshah Ghadiali, he extensively researched colour activation of body systems and put it into practice, it was even used in a major medical center in Philadelphia in 1920.
Here’s some examples of colours that can heal:

Red: Stimulates the sensory nervous system, liver, and blood, energizes the 5 senses. A detoxification colour.

Orange: Stimulates the lungs, respiratory system, stomach, skeletal system, bones, mammary glands, and thyroid. Relieves cramps and muscle spasms.

Yellow: Nerve builder for the sensory and motor systems. Stimulates the lymph system, intestines, pancreas, digestive fluids and bowel movements. A depressant for the spleen, helps lift melancholy, used to expel worms and parasites.

Green: Brings the body into balance (it’s why I chose this colour for my store😊) Activates the pituitary gland, stimulates the rebuilding of muscle and tissue. General antiseptic, germicide, and disinfectant, helps decrease pathogens and prevent decay.

Turquoise: Improves nutrient assimilation and repair of acute disorders. Rebuilds burned skin, has a cooling influence on the body.

Indigo: Stimulates parathyroid, calms the thyroid, respiration and mammary milk production. Controls abscesses, reduces secretions, stops bleeding. Sedative effect.

Violet: Spleen stimulant, decreases muscular activity, including the heart. Calms the nervous system, promotes the production of white blood cells.

Purple: Induces deep relaxation, decreases pain sensitivity, increases functional activity of the blood veins, lowers blood pressure, dilates blood vessels, reduces heart rate, decreases activity in the kidneys and adrenals, lowers fevers. A sleeping colour.

Magenta: Balances emotions, strengthens and balances the heart, circulatory system, kidneys, adrenals, and reproductive organs.

Scarlet: General stimulant. Increases functional activity of the arteries, kidneys, adrenal glands, reproductive organs, circulatory system. Emotional stimulant.

Nervines and adaptogens can be taken together, but what’s the difference between the two, and which is right for you?
Nervines:
-Typically fast acting and often used as a sleep aid or the relief of anxiety
-Calming to the nervous system and can be used to relax muscles and alleviate pain
-Often used to take you out of sympathetic dominance and into a parasympathetic state
-Often used short term
-Use caution, can be drug interactions

Examples of Nervines:
St John’s wort
Passionflower
Lemon balm
5-HTP
Lemon balm
Catnip
Chamomile
Valerian
Hops
Lobelia

Adaptogens:
-Long term use is needed to get full benefits
-Used to build resilience in the body against stress and fatigue
-Modulator in the body, balancing the immune system, hormone production, HPA (hypothalamus/pituitary/adrenal) axis to reduce the output of stress hormones.
-Completely nontoxic

Examples of adaptogens:
Ashwagandha
Rhodiola
Ginseng
Astragalus
Schizandra
Reishi
Cordyceps
Eleuthero
Maca

Reishi has been revered in China for over 4000 years. It is considered the number one superior herb, as it is medicinally potent while having no negative side effects.
It is best known for its gentle ability to unwind the nervous system. It relieves stress but builds energy over time, and this is something that just keeps getting better the longer you take it.
Like other medicinal mushrooms, it contains polysaccharides which help to balance the immune system and also block cell mutations (preventing cancer) and preserve healthy cells in the body.
It improves liver function and can help prevent liver disease.

MCAS is a chronic condition characterized by the abnormal behaviour of mast cells. Rather than producing an abnormal amount of mast cells, it involves a dysfunctional activation of a normal amount of mast cells, making them hyper responsive to triggers (also making it hard to diagnose).
Triggers can vary, but include:
Sudden temperature changes
Stress
Fatigue
Foods and drinks
Sunlight
Exercise
Venoms (bee, spider, snake)
Dyes
Infections (very common!)
Mechanical irritation (friction, pressure)
Medications (NSAIDS, opioids, antibiotics)

Reversing it is comprehensive, and varies from person to person but reducing your toxic load is paramount, then ensuring all detox pathways are functional, balancing cortisol and insulin, and finally, working at reducing pathogenic load (this may include bacterias , viruses, fungi, mold, or parasites).

1) Swollen feet- sluggish liver, heart disease, low hemoglobin, low kidney function
2) Ankle pain - low vitamin D, high uric acid
( Often due to low digestive enzymes)
3) Tingling/numbness in feet - vitamin B12 deficiency (common in diabetics taking Metformin), low vitamin E
4) Spider veins - estrogen dominance, sluggish liver
5) Cracked heels - vitamin A deficiency, low iron, low omega 3, thyroid disorder
6) Cold feet - low iodine, anemia
7) Foot/leg cramps - sodium deficiency, potassium deficiency, B12 deficiency, low magnesium, dehydration
8) Burning feet - diabetes, B12 deficiency

Turkey tail has been used medicinally since the 15th century. Historically, it’s been used for ailments like ringworm, dysentery, impetigo, and to boost circulation.
It’s a potent immunomodulator, it contains two polysaccharides known to prevent viruses, and can even prevent cancer. It’s often used to boost the body when depleted, in the case of HIV or during chemotherapy treatments.
It’s great for gut health as it acts as a prebiotic, feeding the friendly bacteria.
