While the most recent formula recall is an American, and not (to my knowledge) currently sold in Canada, it is important for families to know how to safely prepare powdered infant formula. Please see below for details.
NOTE: preparation instructions on tins of formula generally do not typically include this information on safest preparation.

Important Recall for those who are using infant formula.

In order to not further assist in advertising of the name of a particular brand on social media, if you are using formula and curious about the recall, please see the FDA's website about this recall (below).

Unfortunately, there are formula recalls every year. While not every recall can be prevented by the following, it is important to share/remind parents that when using powdered formula, it is important to boil the water and THEN (while it is still boiling hot: 157 degrees Fahrenheit or 70 degrees Celcius) add the powdered formula, mix it, and THEN cool it. You can make a day's batch at one time and refrigerate it, but the HOT water kills a known pathogen in powdered formula. Unfortunately, it's NOT about having "clean" water, it's about the hot water killing the germ that is IN the formula powder (upon contact with the hot water).

It’s always lovely to get messages like these….maybe even especially when it’s months and months after the last appointment.

We as lactation professionals don’t always get to know the rest of the story of your feeding journey….but it’s always lovely when we do.

Each family I support lives rent free in my heart for a long, long time (and honestly? Probably forever!). ♥️

What do I wish I knew with my first and third babies? That ‘colic’ is a symptom, not a diagnosis. That there is something beautiful, and gentle, and that is effective that can be done about it. That they didn’t need to suffer through it for weeks and months.

THAT’S why I do what I do. Because your baby shouldn’t have to suffer (and neither should you!).

I’ve currently got several babies on my case load who have been described as ‘different babies’ (read: comfortable, consolable, relaxed and happy) after a CST treatment or two.
Of course, we are also working on feeding, latch, and oral habilitation, and together it’s the perfect combination to get to the root cause of digestive issues.

And I’ve helped dozens and dozens more just like them! Want to know if I can help your baby? Reach out! I’d love to help!

Posted • The helplessness of watching your baby struggle with colic, reflux, or gas is immense.

While many factors are at play, we often overlook physical tension. The birthing process can create tightness in a baby’s diaphragm, rib cage, or at the base of the skull, impacting the crucial nerves that regulate digestion.

This can lead to a fussy baby with a seemingly unhappy tummy.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) gently unwinds this tension, giving the digestive system space and improving nerve function. By calming the body, we can often calm the gut, leading to more peace for everyone.
