I can't even count how many times I've been called Dietary...🙃

Truly it doesn't really bother me... Call me Dietitian, Dietary, Food Services, I don't care, as long as my patients and their loved ones know that I help with their nutrition I let it slide...

Our newest resource coming out though may clear up ANY confusion with what the job of a DIETITIAN is!

How much easier would it be that when a patient gets admitted, you leave them a handout outlining EXACTLY what it is you do, how they can get in touch with you, and what you monitor versus what Dietary covers?

It can save A LOT of time taking food preferences and kitchen complaints.

The best part of mine?

I love making a difference in my patients last stop in their life.

Sounds a little dark, but it's actually a bright way to look at things.

We can't pretend like a long term care home isn't the last place that someone will live. But if we look at it that way, we can treat our patients and their loved ones with a different perspective.

Remember:

🌟You can make a positive difference in your patients' lives
🌟Food is one of the top 4 priorities that matter to residents in long term care
🌟You chatting with your residents even for 5 minutes to check in can make all the difference in the world to them
