Winter can be especially tough on the feet, particularly for older adults and individuals with diabetes, vascular conditions, or mobility challenges. Cold weather, dry air, and reduced circulation can lead to discomfort, cracked skin, and other concerns that are much easier to prevent with proper care.

Our foot care services are available throughout December and January to support comfort, mobility, and overall wellness during the colder months.

Gentle assessments, specialized care, and personalized guidance help keep feet healthy, supported, and cared for all season long.

We attended the Indigenous Health Innovations Conference last November at the RBC Convention Centre, a gathering of Indigenous leaders, health professionals, researchers, and community voices exploring how traditional knowledge and modern technology can work together in care.

It was a meaningful space for learning and reflection. One thing that stayed with us was how essential culturally grounded, community-led care is to creating health systems that are accessible, respectful, and truly supportive.

This aligns closely with the values we hold at Mara Home, where we honour each person’s story, background, and lived experience in the way we provide care.
