It is with profound sadness that Spirit Healthcare Group announces the passing of our esteemed board member, Chief Richard Brian Hart Jr., Chief of Bunibonibee Cree Nation.
Chief Hart was a respected leader and a dedicated advocate for his people. His wisdom, strength, and unwavering commitment to community well being guided our mission and inspired everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. His leadership extended far beyond his role with us, touching lives across Bunibonibee Cree Nation and beyond.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Chief Hart’s family, the Bunibonibee community, and all who were impacted by his remarkable life and service. His legacy of compassion, advocacy, and integrity will continue to guide and inspire our work.
May his memory be a blessing.

Brrr… Manitoba, you’re showing off again.
Our President, Dennis Meeches, has one message during this cold snap: stay warm, stay safe, and take care of each other.
At Spirit Healthcare Group, we’re proud of all the incredible work happening across our company, and today we want to give a special shout out to our powerhouse subsidiary, Spirit Healthcare Mobility & Equipment.
From mobility supports to essential home care equipment, our Spirit Mobility team keeps our communities moving, even when the weather is trying its best to freeze everything in place. If only they made mobility scooters with heated seats… Dennis says he’d be first in line.
Bundle up out there, take it slow on the ice, and remember: Warm hearts, warm homes, and the right equipment make all the difference.
Stay safe, everyone, and thank you to our Spirit Healthcare Mobility & Equipment team for everything you do.
Miigwetch.

Honouring Service and Sacrifice | November 2025
At Spirit Healthcare Group, we stand in solemn reflection this week as we honour the courage and sacrifice of all who have served.
November 8th – Indigenous Veterans Day
We recognize and pay tribute to the thousands of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who served with bravery and distinction in Canada’s military. Their contributions, often overlooked, are an essential part of our shared history and deserve our deepest respect.
November 11th – Remembrance Day
We join Canadians across the country in remembering those who gave their lives in service to our nation. At 11:00 a.m., we observe a moment of silence to reflect on their legacy and the freedoms we hold today.
This week, we remember. We honour. We commit to never forget.
