🚫 Why Sleeping on Your Stomach Is Bad for Your Spine!
Stomach sleeping might feel comfortable, but it’s one of the toughest positions on your spine. Here’s why:
🔹 Neck Strain – To breathe, you have to turn your head to one side for hours. This twists your cervical spine and can lead to stiffness, headaches, and nerve irritation.
🔹 Lower Back Stress – Sleeping on your stomach increases the arch in your lower back, putting extra pressure on your lumbar spine and facet joints.
🔹 Muscle Imbalances – Prolonged rotation and extension can create tightness and uneven tension throughout your spine and hips.
If you’re waking up with neck or low back pain, your sleep position might be the culprit.
👉 Try side or back sleeping with proper pillow support to keep your spine in a neutral, healthy alignment.
