Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about resistance and how it shows up in so many aspects of my life.

Resisting change.
Resisting desire.
Resisting aging.
Resisting saying what I really want to say.
Resisting AI to write this post.

📚 Recently, I’ve been listening to an audiobook called Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach.

In the book she talks about how even though she was a successful psychologist, she always felt that there was something inherently wrong with her.

🤔 I related to this so hard. It got me thinking… and half an edible later… I thought to myself what if instead of focusing on what’s wrong with me, I focused instead on what I like about myself.

💡And by leaning into what I like I can learn to radically accept all my perceived flaws. I can accept my grey hairs, my wrinkles and my scars.

☀️Instead of being at war with myself, I can transmute that energy into being present in every precious moment and accept it just as it is, resistance and all.

I just completed a 4-day intensive in the art of somatic facilitation, and I’m still integrating all that moved through me.

This journey took me to places I never imagined I could reach—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Through these teachings, I’ve learned how to track the subtle sensations in the body and trace them back to the underlying psycho-emotional patterns that shaped them.

It’s profound work. Deep work. And I truly believe that somatic facilitation is the missing link to healing chronic issues that show up in the body.

This is more than a course—it’s a reclamation. A remembering.
And I’m only just beginning.

“Important Update! 🌿

As of April 7th, I will be working part time at Down To Earth Massage Therapy. Located at 1366 Grant Avenue inside Essential Balance. Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30am-2:30pm.

I’ll be working from home Thursdays and Fridays, sometimes Saturdays (by request).

I am officially offering Somatic Facilitation and Breathwork.

Somatic Facilitation and Breathwork is a holistic approach to healing that combines body-centered techniques with mindful breathing practices to release tension, trauma, and stress.

Through guided breathwork and somatic awareness, individuals can reconnect with their body, restore balance to the nervous system, release stored tension and recover from trauma.

This transformative practice supports personal growth, healing, and self-discovery by promoting a deeper connection between mind and body

This weekend’s Functional Breathing Reset with and was very enlightening and inspire~ing. 🫁🧘‍♀️

I learned a lot about how our CO2 levels effect every aspect of our lives.

Dysfunctional breathing can lead to hypocapnia (low CO2 levels) which can cause a sympathetic state where one constantly feels a low level of anxiety.

Hypocapnia causes a wide range of symptoms that can mimic pathological processes.

We had access to capometers which measure the amount of CO2 in expired air.

This was a great way to see which breath practices brought our CO2 levels up and which caused them to crash (disregulation).

I found it it very empowering to implement easy, low tech tools that help regulate your nervous system by changing breathing patterns.

I’m really looking forward to implementing this knowledge into my own life and educating my clients on how they can lower their stress levels and bring more ease into their lives with the gentle power of the breath.

These past few months have taught me a lot about myself. I’ve learned a lot about trauma, the polyvagal theory and nervous system regulation.

I’m learning how we tend to leave our bodies during traumatic events and how the body can become a scary and hostile place until we learn how to reconnect with it and reestablish safety.

Through somatic practices and breathwork, along with various other alternative methods I’ve been able to begin healing and recovering.

I’ve learned that it’s ok to rest and it’s actually essential to slow down and notice the nuance of sensations in the body in order to discover what’s been long buried beneath “business” and distraction.

I’ve learned that pain isn’t stemming from the tissues of the body, rather it’s a perception that is experienced in the nervous system based on past occurrences.

My personal experiences have showed me that healing doesn’t begin until we fully come back to our bodies and learn how to communicate with them.

That a deep tissue massage might feel good in the moment but will never have lasting effects until the nervous system is addressed.

That it doesn’t matter how much pressure is used during a treatment if the underlying cause of tension isn’t being looked at.

This is why I’m deciding to shift the focus of my practice to breathwork and somatic facilitation.

Lately my life has been in complete chaos.

I’ve noticed myself spiralling, feeling anxious and overwhelmed.

This morning I was starting to spiral once again with worries about the future.

Instead of adding fuel to the fire with more thoughts and worries I decided to pause instead.

I went within and listened to a guided meditation by

I repeated this mantra:

As I surrender to the uncertainty,
I am in control, I am safe and I am guided.

Repeating this mantra brought me back into my body and reminded me that I have the power to change my life. That being in this present moment is what’s most important and as I become still and aware I start to shift my reality into one of peace and tranquility.

I wanted to share this mantra for all those experiencing uncertainty at this time.

May you be peaceful
May you be well

This weekends Reiki 1 class was healing in so many ways.

It was such an honour and pleasure to teach alongside Wanka Puriy. Herschel helped a lot too, he’s a Reiki master already.

I so look forward to teaching Reiki 2 in the near future!

On July 24/24 I married the love of my life .resort

When we first met, I had a premonition of this day and it was exactly how I envisioned it.

Together we built a home full of love, peacefulness and safety where we could heal and grow together.

This is what the foundation of Tensegrity Wellness is built on.

If it weren’t for you Nash, none of this would have been possible.

I’m extremely grateful for you and all my loving and loyal clients.
