We invite our residents and community to join us for our Easter Sunday Divine Liturgy on April 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM. It is a beautiful time to come together in faith and fellowship.

Following the service, please join us for a special Easter Lunch!

April at Holy Family Home: A Month of music, spirit, and community 🌸

Spring is in the air, and our April calendar is blooming with wonderful events for our residents! From traditional services to lively musical performances, there is something for everyone to enjoy this month.

Here are some of the highlights to look forward to:

🟦Easter Traditions: Join us for the Plaschanytsia Service on April 3 at 10:00 AM and the Blessing of Easter Baskets on April 4 at 1:30 PM.

🟦 Live Entertainment: Get ready to tap your toes with performances by Kirk Smith (Apr 2), The Mosaics (Apr 10), the Stradbrook Show Choir (Apr 11), and Shirley’s Dancing Rascals (Apr 28).

🟦 Cultural Celebrations: We are excited to welcome the Rusulka UNF School of Dance on April 18 at 1:30 PM and Soloveyky on April 30 at 1:30 PM.

🟦 Volunteer Appreciation: We are hosting a special Blessing of Hands and Volunteer Luncheon on April 23 at 11:30 AM to celebrate those who give so much to our home.

🟦 Evening Fun: Don't miss our regular Prize Bingo nights, Trivia, Paint Night (Apr 22), and a Movie Evening (Apr 29).

We are so happy to see our Emily Kosack featured on CTV National News!

Emily is a beautiful example of "silent volunteering." For 34 years, she never sought the spotlight or recognition; she simply found her happiness in helping others. We are thrilled the world finally gets to see the smile that has warmed our home for over three decades. She is truly an inspiration for people across Canada!

Palm Sunday 🌿

With only a few days until Easter, our Auxiliary helped us celebrate Palm Sunday in a very special way. Residents received p***y willows and palm leaves today, marking the start of a meaningful week ahead.

There is a beautiful sense of peace that comes with the tradition of sharing p***y willows and palm leaves—symbols of hope and the arrival of Spring.

A huge thank you to our Auxiliary for their thoughtfulness and for making today so special for everyone here. Seeing the smiles during the visits reminds us of the strength of our community and the importance of these seasonal milestones.

Managing a list of 343 family members isn't just about logistics—it’s about knowing every name, every history, and every heart. They are the "first handshake" for families and the steady hand during life's biggest transitions. They don't just "admit" residents, they welcome them home.

What do you know about music therapy?
For many, it is so much more than just a melody—it’s a bridge to memory, a source of comfort, and a powerful tool for healing.

We recently had a great talk with Monica Bock, a Music Therapy Intern here at Holy Family Home. We discussed the incredible impact music has on our residents, especially those living with dementia. Monica brings such a vibrant, healing energy to our halls, and her insights into this practice are truly inspiring.
