🤔 Think your back pain “came out of nowhere” this March?
It probably didn’t.

Late winter in Manitoba is one of the most common times we see an increase in neck pain, lower back pain, shoulder tension, and tension headaches. After months of icy sidewalks, snow shovelling, heavy boots, cold-induced muscle tightness, and moving less overall, the body often reaches a tipping point.

As activity levels pick up in early spring — more walking, workouts, travel, and spring cleaning — those accumulated restrictions can suddenly become noticeable discomfort.

The good news? You don’t have to wait until pain is severe to address it.

We break down why back and neck pain flare up in March, what’s happening in your spine during late winter, and when it’s the right time to book an assessment in our latest blog post.

👉 Head to the link in our bio to read the full article and learn how to reset your body for spring.

😴 🛌 With this year’s theme, “Sleep Well. Live Better,” World Sleep Day is your reminder that quality sleep isn’t a luxury - it’s essential to your health.

But discomfort, tension, and back pain can make truly restorative rest harder to achieve. Chiropractic care supports a healthy spine and nervous system, helping reduce physical stress so your body can fully relax and recover.

This , invest in better sleep support and your spine will thank you later.

Most people think arthritis only affects older adults.
It doesn’t.

March is Canada’s Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month, and more than 25,000 Canadian children are currently living with Juvenile Arthritis. This chronic inflammatory condition can cause joint swelling, stiffness, fatigue, and ongoing pain — and it’s often misunderstood as “growing pains.”

Juvenile arthritis is a pediatric autoimmune disease that requires early diagnosis, medical care, and long-term support. Raising awareness helps families feel seen, supported, and connected to the right resources.

We’re also proud to support (Cassie + Friends), Canada’s only charity 100% dedicated to children and families living with juvenile arthritis and other pediatric rheumatic diseases. Their work in research, advocacy, education, and community connection is making a meaningful impact across the country — including right here in Manitoba.

👉 Head to our blog to learn more about Juvenile Arthritis, how it affects children and families, and how you can help make a difference.

⏰ Daylight Saving Time can throw off more than just your clock. Losing an hour of sleep can disrupt your circadian rhythm, affect energy levels, increase muscle tension, and leave your nervous system feeling a little out of sync.

As we spring forward, small adjustments — like gradually shifting your bedtime, getting morning sunlight, staying hydrated, and keeping up with gentle movement — can help your body adapt more smoothly.

Around seasonal time changes, we often see an increase in headaches, neck tension, fatigue, and sleep disruption. Supporting spinal mobility and nervous system balance can make the transition into spring feel a lot easier.

If you want to head into the time change feeling prepared instead of behind, now is the time to start making small shifts.

👉 Do you usually notice the time change affecting you, or does your body adjust pretty easily?

🥗 March is Nutrition Month, a yearly campaign dedicated to empowering and inspiring healthier eating habits. This year’s theme from Dietitians of Canada, reminds us that food does more than fuel our bodies — it supports mental health, strengthens connection, and brings us together socially and culturally.

At Bridgwater Chiropractic, we often talk about how the body functions as a whole. Nutrition plays a meaningful role in energy, recovery, inflammation, and overall well-being. What you eat can influence how you feel day to day — both physically and mentally.

Nutrition doesn’t need to be complicated or restrictive. Small, balanced choices made consistently can support better movement, steadier energy, and long-term health.

This month is a great time to reflect on your habits and consider one simple change to help you nourish your body — and flourish. 🌱
