Creating a space with universal access to everyone was of the utmost importance during the design and development of our new property. Given that it is a two-story building, this meant building a ramp to the back door and modifying the interior main level to be barrier-free. Wait until you see our newly modified and renovated accessible washroom!

We are so excited to welcome everyone into our space!

Misunderstanding: Many social media posts suggest that myofascial tools—such as foam rollers, massage guns, or certain creams—can instantly fix pain, stiffness, or discomfort.

Reality: While these products can help improve mobility and temporarily ease muscle tension, they are not magic cures. Research shows that fascial pain and tightness often arise from complex issues. Tools like foam rollers or massage guns might provide temporary relief, but lasting results typically come from consistent, long-term care and lifestyle changes.

Equilibrium has five Registered Massage Therapists on staff (Jenna McMahon, Dana Sawatzky, Mary Neufeld, Jensen Fridfinnson, and Jennifer Stephens), who each have chosen a clinical focus in treating the pregnant body. Jenna, Dana and Jennifer have each expanded their knowledge and certification to also provide Birth Support.

They have directed their therapeutic practice towards aiding and abetting the many soft tissue responses the human body experiences during pregnancy. They have taken post-graduate training and certification to deepen their understanding of the physiological and anatomical
structures involved in pregnancy.

Please let us know if you have any questions on how we can help with your pregnancy by sending us a DM or visit the link in our bio for more information.

You don’t have to be in pain to book a massage. Regular massage therapy is one of the best ways to stay well. Think of it as maintenance — a way to support circulation, lower stress and keep your body moving freely.

Many clients use massage monthly or bi-weekly as part of a proactive approach to health. It’s also a chance to tune in, recharge and give your nervous system a break from the constant stimulation of daily life.

Prevention matters. So does taking time for yourself. We have plenty ways to help so feel free to send us a DM with any of your questions or consider booking a massage today at the link in our bio.

Our new building has a unique story. Since the 90s, it has had only two sets of owners who are still friends, and it was home to the video production companies they operated. The built-in floor-to-ceiling niches in the lobby, which can be seen from the outside, were customized to house the many video reels that once needed to be stored.

During our lengthy search for a new space, we visited many offices similar to the one we are in. The artistic details of this building set it apart from the more standard accountant offices we kept seeing.

It was bittersweet to have the exterior mural painted over, but we also knew it represented a fresh new start for this building. We are so excited to continue its story and call it home. Thank you to for your hard work!

MYTH: All Tightness in the Body is Caused by “Knots” in the Fascia

Misunderstanding: Social media often suggests that all discomfort—whether it’s stiffness,
aches, or tension—results from “knots” in the fascia.

Reality: While fascia can become stiff or restricted, not all tightness is due to fascia or “knots.”
Sometimes, tightness may be neurological, psychological, or muscular in nature. It’s essential to
consider the entire body and other potential causes of discomfort instead of attributing it all to
fascia.

If you are experiencing any discomfort, we can help. Send us a DM with your most pressing
concerns or visit the link in our bio to book an appointment today.

Modern studies show acupuncture can modulate serotonin pathways, lower stress hormones,
and activate the body’s natural painkillers. Many clients report the same lift in mood and
lightness described above. Curious how Traditional Chinese Medicine can support sleep, stress,
or energy?

Here is what one of our clients had to say after their first appointment:

“This has been my first acupuncture experience, and I love it! Both immediate and long lasting
results. My moods are brighter, and I feel a lot lighter in general. I look forward to exploring
more of what it can do for me.” – B.M.

Rethinking “Deep Tissue”

When people hear deep tissue, they often imagine lots of pressure or intensity. But the truth is, working with deeper layers—especially around scar tissue or potential injury—has less to do with force and more to do with quality.

It’s not about how much pressure is applied, but how it’s applied. Slow, intentional movements, paired with your breath, give the nervous system a chance to relax. Only then can we safely access those deeper structures.

Sometimes this work may feel intense; other times it's surprisingly gentle. What really matters is that your body feels safe enough to let go.

Deep work isn’t about pressure—it’s about patience, precision, and cooperation with your body.

If you're interested in Deep Tissue Rehabilitation, please check out the link in our bio or send us a DM with any of your questions.

Pain that lingers isn’t something you just have to live with.

Massage therapy can help reset the body’s pain response and reduce chronic discomfort. 🔁
Chronic pain often involves both physical and neurological components. Massage addresses both by improving blood flow, relaxing hypertonic tissue and helping the nervous system down-regulate pain signals.

Combined with other therapeutic approaches, it can be a powerful part of a long-term pain management plan. We’re here to support you, not just today, but for the journey. If you need more information, send us a DM or check out the link in our bio.
