What if you could meet the farmer who grew the fibre for your next project?

The Pembina Fibreshed Mixer is an evening dedicated to connecting fibre producers with the makers who transform their materials into textiles and clothing.

Meet Shirley of who will be bringing a curated selection of Navajo-Churro products, including single ply yarns in natural colours ranging from white to heathered brown, washed wool locks, and carded wool for felting. Shearing day is just around the corner so a couple of freshly skirted fleeces will be making an appearance as well.

Come spend the evening:

🐑 Meeting local fibre farmers
🌱 Learning about fibre crops and animals
🧵 Discovering regional wool, fibre, and textile materials
💬 Having real conversations about where our clothing begins

The Fibreshed Producer Mixer will be an evening dedicated to building connections between the growers and makers within our local textile system.

This means learning where our natural dyes comes from. Meet Lourdes of and learn about growing your own natural dyes (and purchase some seed starts to grow your own colour)!

Join us for a casual evening connecting fibre producers and makers from our region.

This gathering marks the start of the next One Year, One Outfit journey — where participants commit to creating garments using only fibres grown and produced within the Fibreshed.

Meet the farmers who grow your fibre
Learn about animals, crops, and fibre production
Discover materials and homegrown colour for your next handmade garment
Build relationships across our regional textile community

Our producers will be sharing their fibreshed products and stories about their farms, fibres, and the future of local textiles.

What is the One Year One Outfit project all about? Well we could tell you how it’s about local fibre, local colour, and local labour coming together in one amazing community project.. But if you want to hear more, and to hear from participants from past years, then you should join us on March 10, 2026 at 7:00 pm for our online Info Session!

We’ll give you some background and answer all your burning questions.

One Year One Outfit, or OYOO, is a community project where participants design, source, and create an “outfit” of wearable garments, accessories, or adornments made with fibre and other materials sourced from within the Pembina Fibreshed. And community is the key word.

You’ll work alongside and learn from other creatives from across the fibreshed. You share in the joys, successes, set backs, and motivation, all while supporting local initiatives.

Registration for the 2026/2027 Cohort opens on March 1, 2026. Head to the Pembina Fibreshed website for more information, or to register for our online info session being held on March 10!
