Innovative LIFE Options:

** Supports individuals who choose the In the Company of Friends (ICOF) model.

Innovative Life Options is a non-profit organization that promotes self-directed living in Manitoba through 3 unique support options - In the Company of Friends, Options for Services and Community Navigation. ICOF is an innovative, person centered funding model available to individuals who are eligible for Community Living disability Services. Since 1993, each individual receives direct funding to self-manage their budget. Relationships, respect, self-determination, individualization and enhanced quality of life are the pillars within the model.

**Provides information, workshops, resources and opportunities to learn about:

 Visioning and life planning
 Healthy relationship development
 Building and maintain strong networks
 Financial management and financial literacy
 How to create a self-managed life

**Provides opportunities to connect and share information with families and
support networks

**Offers the Options for Services program and the Community Navigator Program throughout Manitoba

**Facilitates a person centered approach in all our work

November is Indigenous Disability Awareness Month (IDAM).

IDAM raises awareness about and celebrates the significant social, economic and cultural contributions that Indigenous people experiencing disability bring to our communities.

IDAM was created in 2015 by Indigenous Disability Canada/British Columbia Aboriginal Network on Disability Society (IDC/BCANDS) and was proclaimed that year by the Government of British Columbia.

In 2017, the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities recommended that Canada officially proclaim and recognize IDAM nationally.

Innovative Life Options was selected and recognized by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries, in partnership with the Blue Bombers (Game Changers). Thank you for choosing our non-profit organization and providing tickets to the October 25 game!

On October 8th, we hosted our first LIFE Talks event titled - The Lens We Wear. A cozy and inspiring conversation to get us inspired and thinking about how our perception impacts our life.
