The MLPD is an organization of people with disabilities that works on concerns affecting the lives of people with various disabilities in Manitoba. MLPD strives for improvement in areas such as accessibility, education, employment, housing, transportation, income security, and support services. The MLPD supports Manitobans with disability with social policy research and consultation, public education programs, information and referral services, and advocacy

As 2025 comes to a close, MLPD extends its gratitude to our members and donors. Our members play an important role in deciding what to advocate for, and our donors ensure we can carry out this work. We thank our donors for their generosity over the past year and humbly ask for their continued support to carry out our important mandate.

As we look ahead to 2026, our fight for disability rights continues. When we work together and support each other, we can make progress.

Work with us in 2026! Whether your organization is looking for ready-to-implement or custom solutions to your accessibility challenges, MLPD will work with you on your journey to becoming a more accessible and inclusive organization.

Accessibility Reviews: A review of your organization’s physical space can ensure you are meeting the accessibility needs of staff and customers. MLPD’s team can perform accessibility reviews in a variety of spaces to help your organization become more accessible and inclusive to everyone. We have reviewed tourist attractions, office spaces, and factory floors, to name a few. Our tools are designed to adapt to the needs of your organization.

Accessibility Plans: Is your organization required to follow an accessibility plan under the Accessible Canada Act legislation? MLPD can support your organization with a detailed review to identify existing barriers, and work with you to meet the goals identified in your accessibility plans.

Policy Creation: MLPD will work alongside your organization to develop policies that align with your values and strategy. We will ensure that your policies lead your organization to becoming more accessible and inclusive. Our team’s knowledge of the Accessibility for Manitobans Act and Accessible Canada Act will ensure that your organization is compliant with the latest relevant legislation.

Staff Training: Organizations are often required to ensure their staff and managers are properly trained to ensure that they are meeting the needs of disabled people. MLPD can help you meet those requirements with our online modules, in-person training and custom solutions.

In this period of turbulence and unpredictability, where many feel a growing sense of insecurity, disaffection, and alienation, the theme of Human Rights Day is to reaffirm the values of human rights and show that they remain a winning proposition for humanity.

πŸ“ This Ceremony is open to everyone: all genders, cultures and abilities are invited to join together for teachings about feminine energy’s relationship with Grandmother Moon.
πŸ“ Anyone who identifies with feminine energy is invited to participate in the Ceremony. Those who identify with masculine energy are invited to attend to observe.
