It’s actually not uncommon to feel a bit lightheaded, floaty, or even slightly dizzy after a massage—especially after deeper or longer sessions (think 75 mins and above). This sensation is often a result of:
👉 Increased circulation
👉 A drop in stress hormones
👉 Lowered blood pressure
👉 Releasing physical and emotional tension
👉 Standing up too quickly after being deeply relaxed
Massage encourages the body to shift into parasympathetic mode (aka rest-and-digest), which is very different from the fast-paced, high-stress state most of us live in daily! That transition can make your system feel a little “off” for a moment—but it’s usually temporary and totally normal.
Here’s what we recommend:
✅ Take a few minutes to sit and breathe before leaving
✅ Hydrate with lots of water (and electrolytes!)
✅ Eat something nourishing
✅ Avoid rushing back into intense activity right away
✨ Most clients feel refreshed and more grounded once they’ve had a moment to reorient. If you ever feel unsure, we’re here to support and check in with you.
