It is with mixed emotions that I write this post. I am thrilled to announce that I’ve been accepted into the midwifery program at the University of Manitoba. This is something I’ve been working hard towards for years!
Unfortunately, this means I will no longer be accepting doula clients with due dates after Aug 2021.
I wish you all the best, and thank you for allowing me to support you over the years ❤️

There is something about storms and births. Both are things I love and these often seem to go together. The past two weeks, two babies were born on days with thunderstorms. Let’s see what this week will bring!

Busy week! 3 beautiful baby boys born in 4 days, congrats to the families! Lots of cuddles will be happening this weekend❤️

Last week started with a birth of a baby boy, and today started with a baby girl coming into the world. This is the sunrise that I got to witness as I don’t normally get up at 5am (I like to stay up late and then sleep in 😉)
But when mama says it’s go time, I’m instantly awake and ready for the day 🎉

I was honoured to support another birth today. Welcome little one!! Your big sister will love you so much, all (almost) 9lbs of perfection.
I came home just in time to watch this shelf cloud roll in. Perfect day❤️

Two nights ago I was supporting my first post restrictions birth! I’m so happy to be back at this job, giving hands on support❤️

Starting this weekend, 2 support people are allowed in labour and delivery!! I’m so happy to be able to support births again!! ❤️❤️

Manitoba's health minister says visitors will be allowed in local hospitals and health centres again starting Friday, but restrictions will remain.

That moment of bliss, when all is quiet and mama and baby are in a world of their own❤️
This moment was also extra special as this was a VBAC. This mama worked hard and what a prize, 9lbs of pure sweetness!!

Last week I had the honour of supporting a twin mama. This was a first for me and I was blown away by the strength and perseverance shown throughout the pregnancy and birth.
This picture captures the beautiful moment when both babies, just over 4 and 6 lbs, got to do skin-to-skin with the one who carried them courageously for over 37 weeks.
I love how this picture also shows the hands of those who supported her in this journey❤️

This week started off with a planned belly birth due to baby’s breech position. I was able to go in the OR to support the parents during the delivery and captured photos of the very moment a family was born. This baby was a surprise and they were thrilled to find it was a baby girl!

Last weekend my last Dec mama had her baby. This was #5 mama that was due in Dec, and while all were due within two weeks, they nicely gave me close to a week between each birth!!
This first time mama broke the record in my books for shortest birth(for first baby), about 3 hours from the first cramp till baby in her arms.❤️
