2021 brought many challenging, as well as good, things. Social media isn't really the place to talk about hardships, because they can be very personal and others are already overloaded with their own struggles and other troubling things happening in the world at large.

Also, on the one hand, I have of course been upset by the tragedy (-ies) of the pandemic and concerned about other people's suffering. But I have been grateful, over some time, as well for how the pandemic has shaken up the status quo and has encouraged and demanded we take up new ways of thinking, about, basically, how to live.

After a very busy holiday season I am consciously taking some time for myself. And I also look forward to studying and certifying in new modalities of Reflexology in 2022!

Happy New Year to all! 🍾πŸ₯‚ πŸŽ‰ 🌿 πŸ•Š ✌🏼

Studying Hand Reflexology and nearly completed my practicum so that I can take my practical exam. (Excited for that!)

The pandemic really slowed down my progress through my practicum, but I'm happy to be nearly finished! So excited as well to provide Hand Reflexology for my clients as I've had such positive feedback about its effectiveness so far. Many of us spend a lot of time working on devices, and this is a great modality to relieve resulting repetitive strains, among many other benefits of Reflexology in general and Hand Reflexology specifically. ❀ πŸ’› πŸ’™ πŸ’š 🧑 πŸ–€ πŸ’œ

The Reflexology Association of Canada has released some amazing new material recently, including this document highlighting some studies that confirm Reflexology's efficacy in helping various health issues and concerns.

This year, 2021, RAC is also celebrating 45 years of supporting awareness of, and professionalism in, reflexology in Canada. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ 🍁 πŸ’š

Reflexologists usually work with 2D maps of the body extremities we work on (feet, hands, ears, etc.- see second image), as mnemonic devices.

I chose this image for Somerville Reflexology (the first image) because it shows the body's parts, glands and organs drawn more in 3D on, in this case, feet. I love love love depictions like this because they remind me to stimulate reflexes with varying degrees of pressure and at varying 'depths' beneath the surface skin. Also, at varying angles/in different directions.

Reflexology becomes less static-seeming and more 'alive' just as all the parts of our mental, emotional, spiritual and physical bodies truly are. πŸ’–
