Today, I am thinking of all of the amazing people I have had the honour to witness. So many of you who were raised by people who were “elite”. I don’t remember all of your names but your stories are emblazoned on my heart. You are so strong. You are brilliant, bright souls. You did not become who your parents were. You’re not crazy. It’s time for all of us to wake up, remember our connection to each other and our Mother Bhudevi, Gaia.

Have you seen a rose bloom, even after the first frost?

Have you seen how delicate petals become just a bit thicker to survive the icy fingers of winter?

Have you held a frosty bloom softly in your warm palm until she offered you her fragrance for tenderly sharing your warmth?

Have you ever walked through an old growth forest?

Smelled the fragrance of spring as new leaves opened and the smell of fall from the fallen leaves nourishing new life?

Have you witnessed that sacred space between last breath and a new born cry?

Have you wept at the marvel of it all?

Or, did you crush that brave rose under your boot? Did you take an ax to your standing ancestors?

Have you seen your grandmother in your grandson’s eyes?

Or are you dead inside? Heartless?

Everyday She gives you a new miracle, a new chance to be insanely in love.

Without eyes to see her, you’ll destroy Her. Without Her you have nothing. No home, no playground, no experiences, no body.

You are nothing. Nowhere.

Bend the knee, enthrone Her in your chest. Revel in the fact that Her life force is pumped through your veins without any effort of your own.

She will take care of everything even if you don’t take care of Her.

If you don’t take care of Her though… can you really consider yourself human?
