Whole Self Wellness welcomes Dr Felix Chima Anyanwu (MBBS, MPH, MSc, PhD) Reflexologist, Public Health and Wellness Consultant to the clinic.

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears. These points correspond to different organs and systems in the body, helping to promote circulation, reduce tension, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

From Dr Felix Chima Anyanwu: My approach to reflexology is rooted in science and holistic care, and this is because I believe that true wellness comes from balancing the body, mind, and our everyday life. Therefore, I bring a unique blend of medical knowledge, public health insight, and natural healing therapies to support your overall well-being. My practice is guided by a deep understanding of how the body functions and how health is influenced by lifestyle, environment, and stress. This foundation allows me to provide reflexology services that are not only relaxing, but also safe, informed, and aligned with your broader health goals. Whether you are managing stress, experiencing discomfort, or simply looking to maintain good health, reflexology can be a powerful tool for restoring balance.

My mission is to create a calm, welcoming space where you can relax, recharge, and reconnect with your body and live healthier one session at a time.

Whether you are new to reflexology or seeking a more informed and holistic approach to your care, I am here to support your wellness journey.

You are allowed to grieve things that never had a proper ending.

Grief is not only for death. It is for the childhood that wasn't safe enough. The relationship that ended. The version of yourself you had to let go of in order to survive. The life you thought you would have. These losses are real, and they deserve the same compassion and space as any other grief. You do not need a category for your pain to be valid.

Save this and share it with someone who is grieving something that doesn't have a name yet.

What is the freeze response, and why does it happen?

Most people have heard of "fight or flight," but the freeze response, the third branch of the stress response, is less understood and carries shame. Freezing is not weakness or passivity. It is the nervous system's survival mechanism when fighting or fleeing is not possible.

Understanding freeze can be profoundly validating, especially for trauma survivors.

What is somatic therapy, and how is it different from talk therapy?

Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach that recognizes trauma and emotional experiences are not only stored in the mind but in the body itself. While talk therapy works primarily with thoughts and narratives, somatic therapy also attends to physical sensations, posture, movement, and the nervous system's responses.

By noticing and working with what the body is doing, somatic approaches help release patterns that words alone cannot reach.

Save this post if you have ever felt like talking about something wasn't enough.

Your nervous system flourishes with brief moments of tranquility.

Taking a moment to pause and observe your environment can significantly help you regain balance.

Look around—identify one element that brings you comfort or peace at this instant, whether it’s the warmth of sunlight or the calming sound of nature.

Feeling scattered? Ground yourself by centering your awareness through gentle touch.

Try pressing your feet firmly into the floor or resting a hand on your heart. This simple practice reconnects body and mind, anchoring you in the present moment and enhancing your sense of well-being.
