Our Story

Welcome to Bean Family Wellness! Bean Family Wellness offers prenatal, birth, postpartum services to families residing in Winnipeg and Rural Manitoba. Owner, Ilissa, has been working in Winnipeg in the area of maternal health since February 2012, originally focusing on doula services (known as Simply Beautiful Childbirth Services). In 2013, Ilissa added professional photography services to her offerings. Ilissa re-branded in January 2015 to what is now Bean Family Wellness, in order to be more inclusive of speciality services for all families during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. Services include: -Doula services, -Prenatal Classes, -Rental services for breast pumps, TENS machines, and birth pools, -Online boutique for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, baby, and breastfeeding products, -Support Groups, -Lending Library, and -Professional Newborn, Child & Birth imagery and photography services (Imagery by Bean - www.imagerybybean.ca) Bean Family Wellness is a member of the Canadian Birth Photographers Association and the International Association of Professional Birth Photographers. Bean Family Wellness also offers volunteer services through The Tiny Footprints Project, a project supporting families with premature babies living in the NICU. The Art of Breastmilk Project is a project of Bean Family Wellness.
