We are very pleased to share that Darien Reynolds has joined Axtion Independence Mobility Inc. as our Quality Control, Logistics, and Product Support Analyst.

We are thrilled to share that Benjamin Alexander (Ben) has joined our leadership team as our Director, Account Management.

Ben brings a rare and powerful dual background as both a metallurgical engineer and a residential architect, giving him a uniquely practical lens on mobility solutions - how they must perform not only mechanically, but within the real environments where people live and receive care.

Complementing this technical foundation is Ben’s extensive experience as a project manager, leading complex, real‑world initiatives where success depends on coordination, adaptability, and trust. He is known for a relationship‑based approach to problem solving, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to translate needs, constraints, and lived experience into effective, durable solutions.

In leading our Account Management function, Ben will work closely with reseller partners, customers, and clinicians to ensure the RAYMEX Lift delivers exceptional value in everyday use. His ability to connect technical performance with environmental realities and, to do so through strong, trust‑based relationships directly strengthens our commitment to safe, dignified mobility for patients and caregivers alike.

What truly sets Ben apart is his deep understanding of:
- residential architecture
- environmental constraints
- lived‑space ergonomics
- how people actually move through homes
- how assistive devices interact with real‑world layouts

This perspective is profoundly missing in the mobility device industry, where most products are designed for idealized institutional spaces rather than the tight, imperfect, and highly variable homes where over 95% of older adults actually live.

Ben’s blend of engineering rigour, architectural insight, disciplined project ex*****on, and customer‑centered thinking adds an essential dimension to our team. He will play a key role in helping customers successfully integrate RAYMEX® into private homes, assisted living communities, and care settings where traditional equipment simply doesn’t work.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have him on board!

Please join us in welcoming Ben Alexander to Axtion Independence Mobility Inc., creators of the RAYMEX Lift.

We are excited to share that Ibrahim Khan has joined our team as our Digital Specialist – E‑Commerce, ERP & IT Systems!

Ibrahim is a third‑year Computer Science and Business (Accounting) student at Mount Allison University, and he brings a valuable blend of financial insight and digital capability to our team. Working closely with our Chief Commercial Officer, Ibrahim supports the digital backbone of our operations: from e‑commerce and ERP systems to IT workflows and internal reporting. He also works closely with our CFO on payables, receivables, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.

What makes Ibrahim’s contribution so powerful is the combination of these two domains. He not only understands the financial workflows that keep a company running, he also understands the systems that automate them. This means Ibrahim designs the tools he relies on, and he relies on the tools he designs.

His past experience includes data analytics, Google Analytics reporting, curriculum alignment, workflow optimization, and financial stewardship as VP Finance for Enactus MTA. Across all of it, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to learn quickly, collaborate across functions, and bring structure to complex processes.

We’re thrilled to have Ibrahim on board. His blend of technical skill, financial understanding, and genuine curiosity makes him an invaluable part of our mission to support safe, dignified mobility for older adults and caregivers.

Please join us in welcoming Ibrahim to our RAYMEX Lift team!

April marks National Occupational Therapy Month in the United States – a time to honour the remarkable professionals who empower people to thrive. Each week, we’ll be highlighting one of these real world heroes who make a meaningful difference through their skill, compassion, and dedication.

And we’re beginning with someone truly special… our very own superstar, Suling Duong.

👤 Name + Credentials

Suling Duong, Reg. OT (ON)

📍 Location + Current Role

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Chief Occupational Therapist, Axtion Independence Mobility Inc.

💥 Superpower

Creative, resourceful, and pragmatic problem-solving

💛 Why I Became an OT

I’ve always valued working alongside people to find solutions to the challenges they face in their own lives, solutions that are practical, meaningful, and make a real difference day to day.

✨ What I Love Most About My Work Today

I love the people I work with and being part of a team that is working toward a shared goal of solving real-life problems. I value the constant learning that comes with the process, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help turn ideas into practical solutions and actual products that can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

🌱 Golden Nugget of Wisdom

Small changes matter. Be willing to try, learn, and grow.

🌸 Who (another OT) I Admire Most (Giving Flowers)

I admire Becky Marval, Occupational Therapist and Manager of Mobile Outreach Street Health, because she is both a friend and someone whose work I deeply respect. Her commitment to social justice and community care, and the way she meets people where they are, reflects so much of what I value in occupational therapy. I especially admire the compassion, creativity, and heart she brings to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

🎉 Fun Fact(s)

Suling was a member of Dalhousie University’s national women’s soccer championship team in 1999

Suling appeared on the season finale of CBC’s Dragons’ Den this year…and her appearance went VIRAL!

🎨 If I Weren’t an OT, I’d Be…

If I weren’t an OT, I’d be a travel photographer, capturing stories, places, and moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

We’re excited to share that the RAYMEX® Lift was featured in The Chronicle Herald, highlighting the journey behind this Canadian innovation as we move into production. Seeing the story in print is a proud milestone for our team.

The RAYMEX® Lift was created to support safe mobility, reduce caregiver strain, and help people stay independent longer — and we’re grateful to the many partners, funders, and mentors who helped bring this solution to life.

A special thank‑you to Precise Design Engineering Solutions, our manufacturing partner since 2022, and to Harding Medical, who now carry the RAYMEX® Lift in Atlantic Canada.

We’re excited for what’s ahead as we continue bringing this innovation to the people and providers who need it most.
