HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA & SUMMER SOLSTICE!
International Day of Yoga was first declared in 2014 by the United Nations General Assembly to acknowledge the many physical, mental and spiritual benefits that are gained practising yoga.
'Yoga for Humanity' is this year’s theme, recognizing the role of yoga in achieving holistic health, and in bringing people together through kindness and compassion after the pandemic.
Today is also the Summer Solstice, the day with the longest period of sunlight. It’s the beginning of the season that contains the utmost bounty, abundance, and beauty.
After the darker days of winter, our spirits are alive, refreshed, renewed, energized. There is an abundance of rich fire energy available for you to soak up & we can use that energy to inspire and uplift us.
To celebrate, we are hosting two special classes this evening, in studio and online:
6pm - All Levels with David
7pm - 108 Sun Salutations with Yoga Light Instructors (practise all 108, or stop at 45 minutes)
Included with all membership options, or use class passes.
All in studio class participants will receive a free class pass to gift to a friend, and will be entered into a draw to win some fun door prizes! Snacks, refreshments, and more!

The more you know:
Sun Salutations are a sequence of yoga poses strung together in a consistent movement, typically found in Vinyasa-style yoga. In Sanskrit, Sun Salutations are referred to as “Surya Namaskar” and were traditionally practiced to usher in the new day, hence the name.
The number 108 is sacred and significant in many ways, appearing in many disciplines from astronomy to yoga.
The internal heat that is built during this practice can be cleansing, detoxifying, and centering. Sun Salutations also activate prana, or upward energy, thus helping to create and move energy and stuck emotions.
