Can tight hamstrings be a symptom to intrinsic core function? See how hamstring tightness and tension can be relieved by performing several exercises (without actually manually treating the hamstrings!).

Using the pre-treatment assessment comparison for hamstring length, there is certainly an improvement after 10 minutes of working through intra-abdominal pressure, breathing, and scapular stability (without even stretching the hamstrings or hips in Megan's case).

This approach can be applied to other areas of symptoms, not just the hamstrings.

If you believe you may have had a concussion, the first and most important step is to be assessed by a medical doctor or nurse practioner. The holiday season is quickly approaching yet again. I'm not sure where this past year went, but it did it in a hurry. A lot of ups and downs through the year for many of us, yet we persist and are aware that despite how bleak or trying things can be, it could always be worse.

"It could always be worse" is one of my favourite meditations because it forces me to acknowledge that even in difficult times I still have so many things to be thankful for, so many ways in which I am blessed.

As we approach the Holidays, Inspire will again be raising funds for a couple of local families in need. We will be matching all donations up to $500 and these will be distributed through a local school to a couple families to hopefully make their Christmas a little brighter and remind than that their community sees them and supports them.

You can drop off your donation before December 17 at the office or via etransfer to jonathan@inspirechiropractic.ca

Thanks so much everyone for your continued support through the year. We are who we are because of all of you. ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

September 30 has been designated a federal holiday to recognize and commemorate the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools, and to honour their survivors, their families and communities. Initially we had planned on closing the clinic that day as I felt it would be disrespectful to just work through it as if it were any other day. But then the more I thought about it, it seemed inappropriate to just take the day off, particularly since I haven't really been able to find any public events planned to commemorate the day.

After discussing it with Christopher we have come up with an idea that made us feel good about working that day as well as giving us and some of you an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way.

We will be working on September 30th, but all fees collected will be donated to two different First Nations focused charities. We have selected WATER FIRST, a charity dedicated to solving the problem of non-potable water in Indigenous communities.

The second organization is Indspire, an Indigenous national charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Mรฉtis people for the long-term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada by disbursing financial awards, delivering programs, and sharing resources with the goal of increasing graduation rates for Indigenous students.

If you would like to be a part of our efforts to support our First Nations communities feel free to book an appointment on September 30th and join us in commemorating National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. I would encourage those of you who can't make it to make a donation to either of these great organizations, links will be posted below. Thanks everyone!
