15 yrs ago or more, I took a course specific to Breast Massage & Scar work. It was a course designed to help clients manage the aftermath of surgeries/mastectomy etc. we were taught mainly about technique with the possibility of an emotional release.

We had a clinic where clients could come in and get work done. The lady that i was working on was 53 yrs old, and had gall bladder surgery when she was a little girl. She was quite young and her parents were having a hard time getting the doctor to believe the level of pain she was in. They had brought her back many times to the point where even her parents started to question if her pain was really as bad as she was saying.

Turns out, she ended up needing surgery. She has a huge scar. A thick angry scar. She came to me to have it released, to see if it would help with the chronic pain she had been experiencing.

That day, we did more than just release a scar.
You see, the body doesn’t differentiate emotional and physical pain, so when we released that scar she let go of all the trapped emotion, the experience, the fear, the frustration. She cried. She was surprised that this happened.

It made complete sense to me.
And she told me that she finally felt validated.

She shared her story as I was working on her scar. To the day of the week and hour of the day, she remembered the details. Her emotions were intense & so valid.

She left feeling lighter and freer with far less back pain.

This post is the emotional side of scars, we can get into the anatomy if you ever have some work done šŸ«¶šŸ»

Chronic pain can be the result of a scar thats holding trapped emotions and the experience of it.

TREĀ® & Emotional Eating

Emotional eating isn’t about lack of willpower. It’s your nervous system asking for support.

When the body is carrying stress, overwhelm, or unprocessed emotion, it will naturally look for ways to self soothe.

Sometimes that looks like:
reaching for sugar, snacking when you’re not physically hungry
or feeling like you just can’t stop.

And the truth is…
your body isn’t working against you. It’s trying to take care of you & will repeat the same patterns over and over again until they are broken.

TREĀ® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises) gives the body a way to release what it’s been holding.

As the nervous system begins to regulate, many people notice:

✨less intense cravings
✨ more awareness in the moment
✨ a natural pause before reacting
✨ a softer relationship with food

This isn’t about restriction.
This isn’t about discipline.

It’s about creating enough safety in the body that you no longer need to rely on food in the same way.

Your body already knows how to come back into balance. TREĀ®ļø simply reintroduces it to that process.

Sometimes life give us experiences that our body doesn’t fully get to process in the moment.

We push through.
We stay strong.
We do what needs to be done.

But the body remembers.

Stress, emotions, and survival responses can get stored in the nervous system and the muscles, especially when we didn’t have the time, space, or safety to let the body complete its natural response.

With the right space, energy and open mindedness, TREĀ®ļø(Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) gently reintroduces the body to what it already knows how to do.

With the everyday stresses of life today, and unprocessed stress/trauma of the past, this is an amazing tool to have to help navigate through them.

1:1 sessions will be avail in April as well as group sessions.
Please contact me for more information.

What if your body already knows how to release stress? What if you could shake off stress naturally?

TREĀ®ļø(Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a gentle series of simple exercises that help the body release deep patterns of stress and tension.

TREĀ®ļø reintroduces the body to what it already knows — its natural ability to release stress through a gentle shaking response.

When the body feels safe, it may begin this natural shaking response, helping release built-up tension and allowing the nervous system to settle and reset.

Just like animals naturally shake after stress, the human body has this same innate ability to reset and restore balance.

As the year comes to a close, I find myself feeling deeply grateful.

Thank you so much for choosing this space over and over again, whether it be for healing, rest, nervous system support or simply a pause from the demands of daily life.

Thank you for trusting me with your well being and including me in your wellness journey throughout the year.

Each session this past year has reminded me that healing is not just physical- it’s relational & intentional. The presence, the openness and the resilience you bring into my treatment room continues to inspire me and reaffirms why I have continued to do this work for so long.

As we move into 2026, my intentions stay the same; to offer and hold space where you can exhale, feel supported & safe to vent or relax as you need. And as always I am committed to continuing to learn & refining my skills to meet your needs.

With all that being said, I wanted to take a minute to thank you for your trust, loyalty and support that you’ve shown me over the last year. It’s because of you that exhale Therapeutics continues on.

Wishing you a peaceful close to the year and a grounded, healthy beginning to 2026.

An RMT in British Columbia recently created a new federal petition to gather further support for HST/GST exemption for massage therapy in Canada.

This petition is sponsored by MP Brad Vis, who has previously championed similar exemption petitions directed towards the previous federal government.

A related petition, recently presented in the House of Commons by Newfoundland MP Jonathan Rowe, has already mandated a government response. Every new petition presented with maximum signatures further amplifies our collective voice and compels the government to act on this crucial issue.

We strongly encourage all RMTs, massage therapy students, and members of the public to sign this petition before it expires on December 25, 2025: https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-6753

There’s a sacred stillness found beneath the base of the skull - a place where stress melts, breath softens and the body remembers how to let go. This is often times where my clients will exhale, sometimes for the first time during their treatment.

In that quiet hold, the mind softens
The spine unwinds, and calm begins to rise.

This is not through force but by presence. Holding space. Creating safety for the nervous system.
