Exciting News!
Advanced Medical Solutions (AMS), a Calian Company, is excited to announce we have received funding from the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) to launch the First Aid Instructor Training Initiative across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut!
We’re building sustainable, community-based First Aid training by certifying local residents as instructors — helping strengthen emergency preparedness and safety awareness throughout the North.
Instructor Courses: Yellowknife & Iqaluit.
Proposed Dates:
Yellowknife: Jan 20-23,2026.
Iqaluit: Feb 10-13,2026.
Communities: Inuvik, Fort Simpson, Norman Wells, Yellowknife, Hay River, Cambridge Bay, Rankin Inlet & Iqaluit
Participants will receive:
• Certified First Aid Instructor training & mentorship
• Starter Teaching Kit provided
• Ongoing professional support
Who Can Apply:
Residents of participating communities who are passionate about health, safety, and community service. Must has a current Red Cross First Aid certification and teaching experience are assets!
