We are pleased to announce the return of Ophthalmology Services to Yorkton!
Thanks to the dedication and support of The Health Foundation, Dr. Askari has successfully established his ophthalmology practice right here in Yorkton. In August, he performed the first eye surgery in seven years at the Yorkton Regional Hospital — a huge milestone for local healthcare!
The Health Foundation is proud to partner in sharing the cost of specialized equipment that will allow Dr. Askari to operate at full scale. Once fully operational, this service will provide 1,000 to 1,100 cataract surgeries each year, meaning no more long waits or travel for patients seeking care.
We thank our donors whose generosity made this possible. Your support continues to bring essential healthcare services back home to Yorkton.
