Recovering from injury or surgery? The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill could be your game-changer.

This NASA-inspired tech uses patented Differential Air Pressure (DAP) to reduce your effective body weight by up to 80% in precise 1% increments—creating a near “zero-gravity” environment so you can walk, run, or train with normal gait, balance, and form, but drastically less impact on joints, bones, and healing tissues. No harness awkwardness, no water resistance—just safe, progressive loading.
Why it gives recovering patients a real advantage over traditional rehab:

• Earlier start to weight-bearing & movementMany protocols allow treatment as early as 3–4 weeks post-op (vs. 6–8 weeks traditionally), helping rebuild strength, mobility, and confidence sooner.

• Faster return to running & sportRunners using AlterG returned to activity an average of 2 weeks faster than those in traditional rehab programs.

• Significantly improved gait & long-term outcomesMeta-analyses show large improvements in gait performance (SMD 2.99) after anti-gravity training. One study found patients who used it had better walking mechanics one year post-surgery compared to controls.

• Pain relief & better joint functionIn knee osteoarthritis, it reduced pain while improving spatio-temporal gait parameters and knee flexion/extension—allowing pain-free training that traditional treadmills often can’t provide.

• Lower re-injury risk & higher training volumeBy unloading precisely, it lets therapists increase volume safely, restore natural mechanics, and progress patients without overloading healing structures—backed by use in hospitals, pro sports teams (NBA/NFL/MLB), and Olympic centers.

Bottom line: AlterG helps you move better, sooner, and safer—turning “wait and see” into active, evidence-backed recovery.
If you’re rehabbing from a fracture, ACL, joint replacement, neuro injury, or chronic pain, talk to your physical therapist about trying AlterG.

I am hearing professionals in our communities lowering themselves professionally - what was once called stooping - in legal terms defaming. Maybe it’s to make themselves feel more important, or to make more money, try to get busier or because of their own insecurities. If this is you, or you work for someone like this - consider the consequences of those actions and how it makes you look. Consider that the other person has might just have a different approach that may also be valuable.

At Leading Edge, we uphold the highest standards by never speaking negatively about fellow professionals—we believe everyone is giving their best, and countless factors can influence why a treatment falls short of expectations. Let’s build each other up for better patient outcomes!
