💛 Did you know? How Little Locks of Hope really works 💛
Many of you ask how we support families and how our services are funded, so I wanted to share a little bit about how Little Locks of Hope operates.
We do NOT charge families for the children’s human hair wigs that we make.
Every wig made with donated hair is given to the child free of charge, because our mission is to support families who need it most without adding financial burden.
However, these wigs are very labour-intensive to create. The beautiful craftsmanship that goes into ventilating the hair into silk and making each wig requires expert skill ~ and right now, we don’t have enough volunteers in England who are trained in this specialised work.
So, in order to get the hair crafted into wigs, we work with skilled teams abroad~my tribal people who have the training and artistry to hand-make these wigs with care and precision. They give amazing attention to detail, and the children end up with beautiful wigs that fit comfortably and look natural.
Because this work is done by dedicated people who deserve to be paid for their time and skill, we ask for donations, sponsorship, and support through fundraising to help cover these overheads ~ not to make profit, but to pay the people who work tirelessly to help our children.
✨ This is what makes us different:
We never charge the families for the wigs we make.
We rely on the generosity of donors, supporters, fundraisers, and sponsors to keep this work going.
Your support pays the workers, covers postage and materials, and helps us continue offering these wigs to children in the UK at no cost to their families.
If you’ve donated hair, funds, time, or shared our page — thank you.
You are part of something real and meaningful, and every child who receives a wig feels that support.
With gratitude,
❤️ Little Locks of Hope
