Coney Island Home Care– Why Work For Us?
Coney Island Home Care was established in 2015 with the vision to create a unique service agency focused on serving persons with home care needs that are under served in the community. Sharon Peart had primarily worked in emergency medical services with all age group and demographic, mostly older adults and adolescents with developmental disabilities since 1994 in the developmental care system and was interested in providing long-term care to all. Sharon and Claudette had also been owners, operators and providers for several years and had a unique perspective on provider needs when working with clients that have extensive needs. With this, Coney Island Home Care was established with the following intentions:
1. Provide quality attention and care to our employees and providers. Coney Island Home Care recognizes that our primary function is supporting and training our direct care providers well as they in turn provide excellent care to the clients in our services. We believe that happy employees and providers result in happy clients.
2. Provide employment-focused services for all persons with disabilities. We believe that all persons can be employed, despite skill level. Coney Island Home Care has created unique in-house opportunities as well as contracted with local agencies to ensure that we can offer employment to all our staff.
3. Develop solid programs that interface with all areas of a client’s life. Coney Island Home Care has established quality programs that work in unison with one another. Because we offer all available services in-house, we can offer a continuum of care and ease of service delivery.
4. Provide in-house resources tailored to our client’s needs. We have established in-house trainers for Crisis Intervention, CPR/First Aid, and various mental health and disability-specific issues. By having in-house resources, we’re able to quickly provide intervention to specific situations that need extra attention before a situation becomes a crisis.
