Ashtanga Yoga Mysore class
Sundays: February 8th, March 8th. 2026

8.00-10.00 am

This class is for all with some Ashtanga series pre-knowledge: Ashtanga Yoga goes back to Shri K Pattabhi Jois and ultimately to the big yoga guru T. Krishnamacharya. The postures are set together in series, each aiming for a special effect in our body-mind system. The Mysore class set-up asks the practitioner to learn the sequence in order to be able to move from pose to pose independently and supported by the teacher with adjustments and guidance. This allows a very silent class, possibly going into deep meditative states.

Gabriele is a body worker and brings her osteopathic skills into her yoga teaching. She supports everyone in an open and loving manner.

ANATOMY OF BREATHING & DIAPHRAGMS
with Hugo Abecassis this weekend ! .yoga
January 30th-Feb 1st

« Breath is the vehicle of consciousness and so, by its slow measured observation and distribution, we learn to tug our attention away from external desires toward a judicious, intelligent awareness » BKS Iyengar

Even in asana practice the breath plays a central role, as it underpins both the physiological effectiveness and the mindful quality of permanence and movement.

Integrating anatomical knowledge of breathing softens and refines the practice and also helps practitioners recognise breath related patterns like holding or shallow respiration that may increase strain.

PROGRAM

Some topics that will be covered in this workshop:

Breath in relation with asana practice

Breathing patterns

Anatomy and physiology of breathing

Harmonizing the diaphragms (in a Sacro Craneal perspective).

Breathing mechanisms

Pranayama

In asana practice, awareness of these anatomical structures supports efficient oxygen exchange while also facilitating neuromuscular coordination and proprioception.

SCHEDULE

Friday, January 30th

18.00-20.00 - Asana and the Breath

Saturday, January 31st

10.00-12.00 - Asana and the Breath

13.30-15.30 - Pranayama and Restorative

Sunday, February 1st
