Join us at ISICEM in Brussels for an exclusive evening. At this year’s congress, we are hosting two very special thought leader events – and this is the first you won’t want to miss:

📅 March 18 | 18:00–22:00
📍 The Glasshouse at Plein Publiek (next to the exhibition hall)

“Mechanical Power: Does one number fit all?”
with Dr. Philip Fortuna

How should we interpret Mechanical Power in daily clinical practice? Can one single number truly apply to every patient? Join leading experts and peers for an engaging discussion on how to translate Mechanical Power into meaningful bedside decisions.

🔒 Secure your spot, registration required (first come, first served).
And if you can’t make it, don’t worry, we have a second thought leader session waiting for you earlier that day. We look forward to welcoming you in Brussels!

Hands-on education makes the difference 📚

Great to see providers from Charlestown Ambulance Rescue Service advancing their skills through the applications of a mechanical ventilation course provided by Boston MedFlight After an in-depth lecture, participants trained with the connected to a porcine lung model to simulate real-world respiratory mechanics.

Training in realistic scenarios strengthens confidence and prepares teams to manage critically ill patients requiring advanced ventilatory support.

Thank you for your commitment to continuous learning and excellence in prehospital care!

💡 The Challenge. The Evidence. The Solution.
Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) remains a serious clinical issue in UK ICUs with NHS England data estimating 3,000–6,000 deaths per year and treatment costs of £10,000–£20,000 per patient. These figures highlight the urgent need for effective preventive care across critical care settings.

📊 The Evidence
Clinical guidelines from the Intensive Care Society (ICS) recommend VAP bundle practices to reduce risk, by using manual cuff pressure management- it becomes a key factor in preventing micro-aspiration, but is labour-intensive and inconsistent. Traditional methods may require multiple manual checks per day, increasing workload and variability in care.

🔍 The Solution: IntelliCuff®
Meet IntelliCuff, Hamilton Medical’s automatic cuff pressure controller that continuously measures and maintains optimal cuff pressure during mechanical ventilation. With IntelliCuff, clinicians simply set the desired pressure and the system takes over, reducing manual adjustments and helping protect patients from micro-aspiration, VAP, and tracheal injuries.

✨ Why It Matters
⬇️ Reduces risk of VAP and tracheal injury
⚙️ Frees up clinical time by automating continuous cuff management
📈 Supports safer, more consistent adherence to evidence-based practice
IntelliCuff secures airway management, helping clinicians focus on what matters most: better patient outcomes.

Since joining our EMS team, Andreas Graßl continues to combine two worlds: his role at Hamilton Medical and his active work in emergency medical services.🚑 For Andreas, real-world experience matters. In high-pressure situations, ventilators must perform instantly, intuitively, and reliably. That’s why it’s important to him to stand behind solutions he would confidently use himself in the field.

“At the end of the day, it’s about trust, in the device and in the technology.”

Thank you, Andreas, for bringing your practical insight and dedication to our team and to the clinicians we support every day.

📢 New Clinical Insight Alert! 📢 We are proud to highlight a recently published clinical paper in the Canadian Journal of Respiratory Therapy exploring an important question: How can collaboration between medical device manufacturers and bedside clinicians lead to improved applications of medical technologies?

This publication underscores something we strongly believe: when clinicians and manufacturers work side by side, patient care benefits. By combining frontline clinical insight with engineering expertise, we can refine device applications, enhance usability, and ensure that technology truly supports the complex realities of patient care.

🎓 We are especially honored that the authors of this paper are valued partners of ours at Emory University Hospital. Their commitment to advancing respiratory care through research, clinical excellence, and thoughtful collaboration exemplifies what is possible when healthcare professionals and industry innovators engage in open dialogue and shared problem-solving.

Key themes explored in the paper include:

• The importance of clinician feedback in optimizing device functionality
• Bridging the gap between technology design and real-world clinical workflows
• Continuous education and knowledge exchange to improve patient outcomes
• Building long-term partnerships grounded in trust, transparency, and shared goals
