Il contatto Pelle a Pelle in TIN (Terapia Intensiva Neonatale) gioca un ruolo importantissimo
- nel legame genitore-bambino,
- nell’accrescere la competenza genitoriale,
- fondamentale per la crescita ponderale del bambino,
- per la gestione stabile dei parametri vitali, come la temperatura corporea, la respirazione e l’attività cardiaca regolare,
- per lo sviluppo neurologico del bambino.

E una volta tornati a casa?
Il bambino non è più un bambino prematuro considerato paziente, ma è un bambino neonato, che ha bisogni primari e prioritari di contatto, vicinanza, protezione, di crescere, quindi di essere portato come tutti i bambini.

Infant massage allows them to form better relationships with the world and with themselves.

Children do not enter this world with bad intentions. They do not come to wear us out, test our patience, or push us over the edge. They come to us with the need for love, connection, and belonging.

What if we always looked at them with the same awe and wonder as we did when they were first put in our arms? What if we didn't allow negative messages of "terrible twos" and other fear-mongering messages targeted at us get into our heads and skew our perceptions?

If we want to create lasting bonds with our children, we need to change the way we see them. There needs to be a huge cultural shift in the way we view children, and it starts with you and me.

We don't have to surrender our inner voices. Tune out the clamor of the world and tune into the whispers of your hearts. These are not tyrants. They are not our enemies. These are our precious children.
