❤️ plongez dans les archives de la découverte de la tombe de Toutankhamon
A century after Tutankhamun’s mummified body was unwrapped, the GI is retelling this story through their new website!
In November 1925, Howard Carter and his team carefully unwrapped the mummified body of the young pharaoh. A century later, the Griffith Institute, University of Oxford, has launched the Tutankhamun Spatial Archive, a new searchable database bringing together every archaeological record from the tomb’s discovery. Explore Carter’s journals, Harry Burton’s photographs, and the drawings and notes that captured one of the most significant archaeological moments in history.
The Beta release focuses on the 1925 unwrapping, including the famous golden mask and all objects discovered inside the wrappings.
