Distributors from five countries recently joined us in Köniz, Switzerland, for our “Elara 900 Advance Training.”

Over two days, participants from the UK, USA, Morocco, Japan, and Greece deepened their technical expertise through hands-on sessions covering installation, commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting. The goal: empower our partners to confidently provide first-level technical support in their local markets.

Beyond the technical focus, the training also strengthened collaboration across regions and reinforced our shared commitment to high-quality service worldwide.

As part of our introduction to the new “Octopus Clinical Compendium”, we’re spotlighting another study that highlights a key strength of the Octopus: high-density macular perimetry.

A recent PLoS One (2025) publication by Caiado et al. examined how foveal avascular zone (FAZ) morphology relates to macular sensitivity, macular vessel density, and ganglion cell layer thickness in glaucoma.

Key insights:
• FAZ morphology reflects both glaucomatous damage & age-related vascular change
• When controlling for confounders, FAZ metrics strengthen structure–function assessment
• High-density macular perimetry improves spatial correspondence between functional loss & anatomical findings.
