January is Glaucoma Awareness Month
Our goal is to alert everyone to have regular eye and optic nerve checks to detect glaucoma as early as possible because there are available treatments for all forms of glaucoma to prevent visual loss.
In 2020, Glaucoma affected approximately 80 million people worldwide. This ranks it as the second leading cause of blindness globally, following cataracts. People over 60, those with a family history of glaucoma, diabetics and individuals with severe nearsightedness face a higher risk.
