Greatness is not just defined by the top but by the bottomline, without which ethics are lacking. With all the potential and resources of 21st century society, should anyone have to worry about being financially ruined by an accident or illness? The idea is not to entrench outdated or predatory systems but to liberate people from them by minimizing costs and corruption and optimizing quality, longterm effectiveness, and free choice including preventive and holistic approaches. :)
Under universal healthcare, "all residents of the U.S. would be covered for all medically necessary services...Premiums would disappear; 95 percent of all households would save money. Patients would no longer face financial barriers to care such as co-pays and deductibles, and would regain free choice of doctor and hospital. Doctors would regain autonomy over patient care.
The Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act, H.R. 676, based on PNHP’s AJPH-published Physicians’ Proposal, would establish an American single-payer health insurance system."
