Where could you stand more firm?
Where could you stand taller?
When could you keep.a cooler head, and still be warm inside?
Where could you take up more space and be edgier?

The idea of the 360° breathing is to breathe more often all the way and allowing the belly to expand and not only the chest to rise.
Too often we breathe inverted. Shallow.
Meaning we puff up the chest and suck in the belly when we INHALE and we push the belly out and collabse the chest when we EXHALE.
This is totally inverted to the way our breathing muscle - the diaphragm - moves stuff inside our body when we breathe.

So try it, practice it, play with it.

WARRIOR 1 or VIRABHADRASANA 1 is NOT a beginners pose.
Do not listen to the teacher when he tells you otherwise 😅
Today I want to look at the qualities and characteristics of a warrior.
A warrior is strong, not only physically but mentally as well. A good warrior knows the importance of a patience to build a STRONG & SOLID foundation for his/her body and mind.
He knows that before she can go and fight a successful war, she must prapare, with babysteps and easy weights he starts, training everyday, all day.
Then she gradually buits on this, his goal/ fight in mind, he gets stronger and stronger especially within.
A good warrior knows the importance of BALANCE & FOCUS. Training balance takes focus. First he focusses on the external, then as he matures in his practice he learns to find the focus within, and balance is brought to a whole new level.
A good warrior knows the importance of repetition yet she doesn't get caught up in the seriousness, she knows that variety, diversity and creativeness are equally important for lasting growth.
So next time a yoga teacher guids you into this pose in one breath, remember the journey of a warrior! Stop listenimg to the words outside and go on your journey within.

Breathe, explore, connect, and if by the time you found your foundation the teacher is already in Downward facing dog already again, don't worry, as you know that there is no use in rushing such a training/ journey.

PS: this post is inspired by my very own journey and the journey many of my students and experiences from people in other yoga classes. Oh and life of course 🙏
